It's not that i would be affected, i don't even live in the us. i just wonder how, since every us-company has to collaborate with the governement.

is there a login for investigators? icloud.com/investigate?
where one can type in an apple id and see his/her position Immeadatly?
how does it work with iMessage?

and what about non-us countries? don't they have to go by an us-judge to have access to ones imessage-library?

I am not sure what you are talking about but I suspect you are not an American and have a distorted perception of how our law enforcement agencies work, perhaps from television and movies?

I know where the op is coming from. And as an American, I can tell you that the feds can find your phone and see everything in your personal "secured" iCloud any time they darn well please. *as long as they convince a judge or you are considered a threat to national security anything goes.

    Real or imagined.

And it's probably not hard to find a progressive judge who is either corrupt or agrees with their line of reasoning.

A "terrorist" can be held indefinitely without a trial thanks to the patriot act.
