It’s going to cost money: “Starting February 1, fans can subscribe to MLS Season Pass on the Apple TV app for $14.99 per month during the season or $99 per season, and Apple TV+ subscribers can sign up at a special price of $12.99 per month and $79 per season.”
Is that the ad-free pricing or will there be a separate discounted ad-supported tier? :p

So I'm wondering if we're going to have to pay extra if we want to just watch one team. In my scenario, I'm only concerned about watching Union games. Is this going to be included in the ATV+ price? Or are we going to have to pay extra?
All games of the leagues will be watchable.

Cannot wait! A lot of people’s questions around the service have been answered in previous articles, but behind a paywall at the athletic. Free for season ticket holders, a lot of games will be in front of the paywall, then some others on ATV+, there will be some simulcasts on cable, English, Spanish, French(Canadian teams), an option to tune the local radio broadcast to the live stream if available. Exciting times. Consistent match scheduling! A live Goal Zone type show. I’ll get it with my season ticket but this seems like a deal anyway.

No. Blackouts.

Let me repeat,
No. Blackouts.

that sucks. I assumed this was part of ATV+. whoops.

ok a bunch of games are on ATV+ but not all. ...not that I care. I watch EPL.

Blackouts are based on a fallacy: that fans won't go to the game if they can watch on TV. Years of data show this isn't true; you just have to make the in-person experience a real experience.

The problem is that it's a contract term, and removing those is hard.

I am sure that it was true before the internet or even satellite tv. Now? It’s just stupid.

This is going to be interesting. The prices for cable subscriptions for major European leagues have become ridiculously expensive in the past years. I wonder if this will lure some audiences to MLS from them, even if the quality of teams is not on par.
I doubt it. Top quality club soccer currently takes place in Europe. The top league arguably is the Premier League. To follow it costs less than the MLS subscription — same is true for the top Cup competition, the Champions League. Worldwide appeal is true for the top European leagues —- I don‘t see that happening for the MLS, even if the subscription cost less than ESPN+, for example, which carries the top leagues from Spain and Germany.

The most important thing for all the Americas Continent would be unifying Conmebol (South American football association) and Concacaf (North American football association):

1) It would create a spectacular international club competition, to rival the UEFA Champions League. It would generate a lot of investment and business for a supercharged Americas Libertadores Cup: Teams from Brazilian league, Argentinian League, Mexican League, MLS (USA) League, etc.

2) Unifying Copa America and Gold Cup in a Supercharged Copa America. A spectacular international national teams competition, similar to the 2016 Copa America, but with more teams.

3) If we don’t do this now, UEFA (European football association) will be a monopoly.

4) There would be more Americas teams in the World Cup, And the World Cup qualification would be super fun

Apple and Major League Soccer today announced that the MLS Season Pass is set to launch on February 1, 2023, with the new subscription service available to fans in more than 100 countries and regions
Sigh…..

HUGE MISSED OPPORTUNITY FOR APPLE…….

They should’ve included this service FREE for anyone with Apple TV+ subscription with Apple One Premiere membership. We pay premium for this level of membership, we should be able to get ALL of Apple TV+ for no extra charge…… 🤦‍♀️
