Am I the only one unclear about the actual difference between the Apple Watch Nike+ ... (whatever the name is) and the Aluminum Series 2 Apple Watch? They are priced the same, the hardware sounds like there are no effective differences. I guess I'm asking, what makes this different from the Series 2 Apple Watch aluminum, but a pre-loaded app and a special wrist band?
The app is utter garbage.... can't even track running distance correctly. First/Last time I used the app i ran roughly a mile before checking my distance. It only showed 0.22 miles.
Hi man,This is the exact same thought I am having. I want to cool band, but with the option to disable the Nike stuff. I'm not interested in running (at least not at this point), but I am serious about hiking. I just started using Runtastic to log my hikes, so I would have no interest in the Nike software. Also, would this watch still have all the other watch faces too?
I don't think so neither but how can we know before buying it? That's the question I'm afraidI can't imagine they would withhold any features or faces from the Nike version.
According to Apple chat from yesterday, the reason is just for stock. But by thinking both of them are the same, the reason must be just for the manufacture of the band or stuff like that.... I want to believeI feel exactly the same way you do.
I don't think so, someone above said that at Hermes edition there were specific bands and a few watch faces too so maybe in this case the situation will be similar."Apple Watch Nike+ features two exclusive watch faces inspired by Nike’s iconic style that can be easily personalized with useful apps like Activity Rings, Heart Rate, Stopwatch and Weather, helping runners stay informed at a glance." does this mean there are only 2 Apple Watch faces on the Nike+.
Has anyone actually decided to get the black/volt vs. the black/gray?? I feel like this is the hardest decision of my life.
I just started using Nike again. It was this watch that did it. So far so good. I've been logging in Daily Mile for years.
Well, I'll be honest to you: as soon as the Apple Store went online I ordered the black/volt version. It looks really cool. I've come to realize however that, no, it just does not fit my personality: it's too flashy and I would not like to have it on work. I rather have come to like the black/gray version.
So I canceled the order and placed another one for the black/gray version.
Too bad, we can't have both bands.
That actually really helps. I have the same thought about wearing volt at work being too bright. However, I usually don't wear the sport bands to work. But I think you're right that the volt color screams running watch while the gray can be worn more casually. Today, when i was trying/buying my nylon in store they had the nike band out on the table. I asked the lady if she knew if they were going to sell them for us regular 42mm owners to buy soon, and she said that it was a frequent question but that she did not know. The band was alone and I could see the connecters on it, look just alike to our normal ones so I do not see why they would not fit? Just a matter of availability?![]()
This is real>>?? I Spoke with Apple and they said me the same thing .. we can't used apple Bands only apple nike Bands.. I Can't got it..![]()

I'm thinking the Nike marketperson who posted that tweet is blowing smoke - they want to preserved the special-ness of their special version, but I'd be totally astonished if Apple purposely made the connectors incompatible - support headaches and losing the ability to sell additional bands to the Nike watch owners. I'm guessing the tweeter made up the "it won't work with other watches" part to have a reason to point to, instead of simply saying "we've chosen not to sell it separately". That'd be a nice tweet to ask them about, very publicly, after the watch goes on sale and people try the band out on the other Apple Watches and vice versa.Today, when i was trying/buying my nylon in store they had the nike band out on the table. No way. Not a chance. Plus if you go on Apple's Nike+ watch website, at the bottom it says "Add some great accessories" and takes you directly to buy more bands.![]()
