I am not shocked, this has been going on for awhile.

I just don't understand how this is not completely obvious to anyone that pays attention to this stuff.

I just hadn't seen that Samsung MacBook copy before, and it's much worse than what they normally do.

You really don't get it, do you? And you really need a lot of words to show that. Don't bother to reply, I'm just a dumb guy using Apple products since 1982.

LOL so you're the master and want me to bow down to your experience mate?

As stated, I really don't get your point! I'm not sure if you do either.

As for Hyundai I can speak from experience can you? They are built just as well as Toyota if not better. And what gimmicks are you talking about?

You're speaking from experience are you mate? Because I'm talking about studies/statistics. When I go to buy for a car, I look at which ones are rated as being the most reliable by national studies...etc rather than 'oh in my experience _____ are no good'.

Check for example JD Power:

http://autos.jdpower.com/ratings/dependability.htm

Most dependable/reliable cars. Check the top brands... Toyota, Lexus, Scion, Mazda, Nissan... see a pattern? JAPANESE cars. Cameras... you'll see similar patterns... Nikon, Ricoh, Sony...etc. Korea just doesn't make the same standard of consumables.

Yes Korean cars and consumer electronics have come a long way. This is in part because brands like Samsung have copied the practices/techniques of GOOD brands (such as Apple, Sony, Nokia...etc).

HOWEVER Japanese and American quality sets an extremely high standard. Kia, Hyundai and Daewoo are nowhere near the standard of Toyota, Lexus, Mazda...etc.

Same deal... Daewoo (electronics), Samsung, LG...etc are not up to the standard of Apple, Sony, Nikon...etc. They've moved away from being cheap Chinese quality and offer this 'middle ground' which isn't quite Japanese/American quality but costs less without being really shonky like Chinese gear (which delivers the lowest price & quality).

Gimmicks is a whole new section and I'm getting tired. If you don't understand what I mean then have a beer, think about it and come back to me if you still don't get it. Dictionaries help.

Djgamble, I checked out the site that you mentioned.

The charts show a different story than you told.
2013 IQS shows both Hyundai and Kia well above industry average. In fact, Scion(a brand of Toyota) was dead last. Mitsubishi and Nissan were 3rd and 4th from the last, Subaru, Mazda were also below Industry Average.

Mini, Ford, Dodge, Volkswagen, Jeep, Laand Rover, Volvo, and BMW were also below industry average on that list.

2013 Dependability by JD Power shows Nissan and Infiniti right above Kia and Hyundai, but Audi, Volvo, Mini, Jaguar, Volkswagen, Jeep were also below Kia and Hyundai. Land Rover being dead last.

Am I saying that Hyundai and Kia are great cars? Actually, yeah. They are not the same cars that used to break down in the highway during winter few decades ago.

You have a very flawed view thinking all Japanese goods have superior quality. They do have a reputation and an image, but that doesn't mean it is the case all the time. The very data you proposed(and never bothered read) tells that story.

I could go on and on about how you are being extremely biased based on the country and why you would be wrong to think so (look up why companies decide to manufacture in China, it's not just low labor costs. It's not the technology they lack, it's the image). But I won't. I wouldn't be able to change how you think anyway. But it might be interesting for you to know that Japanese brands didn't exactly start out in the west with the same image as you are familiar with.

However, I do wonder why an apple fanboy like yourself is so upset over Samsung. Why does it make YOU upset that another company is trying to follow trend made by Apple?

HP, Dell, Asus are just a few of the manufacturers that make laptops and products that also resemble Apple. I am happy that if I need a windows machine I can actually find one with Apple looks, feels, and hardware quality.
Every smartphone resembles iPhone in some way or form. Or should I say, all smartphone resembles each other. Why the uproar?

Nationalism is questionable, THIS is just foolishness.
