Hey all
Don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but target has temporarily lowered the price of the iPhone 4S from 649.99 to 499.99
But it's in store only, so call ahead and see if they will honor this price if its not on sale

Hopefully soon we will hear if there is release of the iPhone 5

Hmm.... I really want a 5 (6) and I really want 32 or 64GB, but still, that's not a terrible price...

Thanks for the info! Maybe this means the 5 is coming soon!

I went to my local target and the did not have a sale tag on it, but I asked he girl in charge of mobile and she verified the sale price and that the 4s would be better than my Optimus V (like on the far side of my house I get 1-2 bar)

So I am just really mulling it over

$400 (sorta)...that's REALLY not bad...

I don't know, I might be tempted to buy one to try out Sprint's service...and if it doesn't work, it's kinda a spare better and worse iPod touch 5.

Although come to think of it, I'm already transitioned kinda to Lightening cables....just wish I could buy some compatible docks!

Yeah, I think I need to wait for the 5...

Yeah I know the feeling, part of me wants to hold out, and part of my doesn't. I figure since their network isn't 4g lte chances of me getting it in Indianapolis anytime soon are slim
A friend of mine got the 5 for AT&T and loves it but hates that the slate has already started to come off
So I think I am going to take the plung and get it on Black Friday

And they just lowered their price even lower than that on the VM website just today.

4S - $449.99
4 - $349.99

Since we've been waiting all this time for VM to actually get the iPhone 5 ... I've been doing more thinking and number crunching. I have a lot of music, and would prefer to just keep it all on an iPhone, so I should really get the 64GB model.

iPhone 5 64GB - $850
Virgin Mobile plan - $30/mo (300 min)
after a year - $1210 ($3.32/day)
after 2 years - $1570 ($2.15/day)
after 3 years - $1930 ($1.76/day)
after 4 years - $2290 ($1.57/day)

iPhone 5 64GB - $850
Straight Talk plan - $495/year ($41.25/mo) (unlimited)
$15 sim card
after a year - $1360 ($3.73/day)
after 2 years - $1855 ($2.54/day)
after 3 years - $2350 ($2.15/day)
after 4 years - $2845 ($1.95/day)

For me, it'd be worth it to get it on Straight Talk instead of VM because there's unlimited minutes and more coverage. So, the savings on VM only really happens when you want the 16GB model or the iPhone 4.

Does anyone even have any idea on a date or time frame for the iPhone 5 on virgin mobile?

According to virgin mobile, it might not be getting it for sometime. The 4g WiMAX is not compatible for the 5. There is a rumor that lte maybe coming in 2013

But on their Facebook page, its implied that its not going to happen

I'm hoping for an early release. I don't want to purchase an iphone 4s and in the next few weeks the iphone 5 being released.

To make matters even worse, rumor has it that the next iPhone, the iPhone 5S, will be released sometime in mid-2013.

Eww, god.

Virgin Mobile is terrible compared to AT&T/Version/Sprint/T-Mobile

Well, VM actually uses Sprint's network ... so, really, Sprint is terrible compared to everyone else.

But you really do save a ridiculous amount of money if you don't need the voice plan as much as their data plan.

I think someone on here mentions this, but do you think it could have something to do with LTE? Sprint doesn't (yet) want their prepaid ones using LTE, sooo...

I mean I don't care about LTE per se, I don't care if I have a phone that supports it but the network doesn't. But I wonder if that's why, or if it's even some weird agreement with Apple or something...

At this point though I'm having so many problems with my lightening connector on my iPod touch 5 I'm seriously considering (for the first time since 2007) NOT buying an iPhone 5 when it's available :(

My thoughts exactly, Conspiracy Keanu.
