anyone receive the new mac mini yet? was not sure if the available date is real or a safe bet type date

Mine has moved from Processing to Preparing to Ship. I do not expect it to arrive early! (UK)

I use an app called PixInsight, an image processing package for astrophotography. It is highly reliant on number of cores, processing one image file per core. The Mac lags behind in this area of number of CPU cores BUT, if I read this right, if it can zip through an operation in say, half the time, then that’s like having 2x the cores. I have a Mac Mini M2 Pro with 12 CPU cores, 32Gb of RAM.

Is there mileage in upgrading to the new Mac Mini, going for M4 Pro, maxing out on available cores? I would probably go for 64Gb RAM too if I were to upgrade.

Not at all typical and nobody should be surprised. The M4 schedule was talked about and reported on endlessly for 9-12 months at least. The last update of the MBA was March 2024, seven and a half months ago..

How supported is WiFi 7 in the marketplace?

As for Mac Studio... it's a weird product placement.... a super-Mini? If and when they do upgrade it, it will come with the M4 Max and M4 Ultra configurations. We haven't yet heard about the Ultra.

its a joke they didn't include wifi 7 in pro computers but they put it in phones... I bought wifi 7 routers this past summer
