Evernote is one of the worst apps I have on my iPhone. The only reason it hasn't been deleted is copy paste doesn't work good in the app and it's too much work to get the previously entered notes in another app. But it looks awful!

I quite agree! It used to have the alphabetical navigation down the right side but they dropped that for some unknown reason. Now one has to scroll like crazy to get to notes in a long list. Crazy.

It's also a skeuomorphic mess. I'm surprised Apple gave it an award.

Yahoo weather app wins award... No surprises here  Perhaps Apple hired Yahoos UX team for the iOS 6 weather app?

I see - I made the fatal mistake of assuming the judges cared about OS X apps when I submitted Battery Status to the student competition.

Oh well, congratulations to those that won. I'll be back next year... Maybe... I actually don't think I have any apps that can be sold on the App Store in the pipeline right now...

You didn't make any mistake. Your app rocks, but just because you think the judges most worried about noticing your app doesn't make your chance a mistake. Keep working on your app, make it remarcable! And then try again!

Wow, the Yahoo! Weather application foretold the iOS 7 design language. Very weird. I love Yahoo's! new weather application.

I think Twitterrific app deserved an award like Yahoo's weather app... Both obviosly were design based on internal design info. I refuse to think they magically design something exactly as the new OS.... Hmmm

I am not a fan either.

I hate it too...

Good job Procreate. With a pressure sensitive stylus it's the best thing I've installed on my iPad. Exceptional.

yahoo weather is the BEST weather app i've ever seen. yahoo weather deserved this award.
ever-note is also an awesome app, lots of customization and options, good thing they achieved this award.

Of course they gave an award to Yahoo Weather. They basically stole the app outright for iOS 7.

With Yahoo's permission, of course.

Yes, because we all know that iOS 7 hasn't been in development for over a year now and Jony decided to steal the look for the whole OS off a weather app that was released only a few weeks ago. He's such a bad designer. :p

How the hell did Coda 2 win? It's been buggy as hell since release. I get that its a design award but surely they should be taking the apps actual purpose and how well it serves it into consideration.

How does Mailbox not win an award? Most innovative email client and productivity app in a long time IMHO. Maybe because it influence users to use gmail over icloud for email?

Yeah, seriously. iOS 7 even seems to have some swiping gestures influenced by mailbox.

Possibly. Just surprised that the two apps look almost identical.

Possibly? There's no doubt that Yahoo had some inside info to make it gel with iOS 7.

By giving the award to Yahoo it's like Apple is really giving it to themselves.

In fact, it could be a clever way for Apple to gauge public opinion on the design without giving away that it's the new look for iOS.

Then it isn't stealing then, is it?

I've been using Coda 2 since its release and I can't remember it ever crashing or behaving odd. Maybe there's something wrong with your setup or you are missing an update.
