Black Friday + Amazon Prime free 2-day shipping + Amazon's no tax = our best bet.

Apple? Discount? No way!
It's probably like tax-free shopping, and nothing else...

I bet if there was a story about Steve Jobs single handedly saving five babies from a burning house and ending the war on terror at the same time, you would still make a negative post about it.

How is my post negative? The scary thing is, it's probably true.

I remember when the discounts used to be stackable. In 2007 I bought the higher range 13" WhiteBook with the Black Friday discount + my employers discounts. Should have been £949 and paid £740 total. Those were the days :(

Want to pull the trigger on an iPad but think I'm going to force myself to wait for 3.

I'm hedging my bets...

I took my chances and just bought a new MacBook Pro (late 2011 model) through Currys (UK). I wouldn't normally touch them with a barge pole, as they have no idea about the products they are selling. However, I found a discount code online for 10% off all products over £1000, and also I used a cash back site to get 3 points per £1 spent (equivalent to a further 3% off). So all in all, I saved myself 12.7% (roughly £200) off a brand new MacBook Pro 15".

I figured that this way better than my Corporate discount (~6%) or any discount Apple is likely to offer through their black Friday sale.

Now I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Apple don't excel themselves this year, now Tim Cook's in charge...

Going to buy an ATV2 and iPhone 4S on Saturday so hopefully one of those is in the deal i'll get them Friday instead.

Will this be online sore only (as the add suggests), or can you go to a real world store and get the same discounts?

Apple's brick and mortar stores generally have the same prices as their on-line store (unless, perhaps it's a store opening/re-opening or something like that). I would expect no different this time.

Does anyone think the icon they used for this is a bit naff? Looks like something a bad 1st year design student would do :/

Apple deals do equal about no tax in some situations so not terribly bad.

The thing is the savvy can already get no tax online (minus a few states), bigger discount too so not great for them.

Still though hey. They're not obligated to take $1 off so at least they offer something.

On iOS devices, you're more likely to get better deals via AT&T, Verizon. If you're not afraid of fully warranted, cosmetically perfect factory refurbs, the BF deals on mobile Apple devices can be great.

Anyone guess if the 4S will be discounted at all?

I know the savings here are not going to be massive, but i'm looking to buy a 32gb and a 16gb one tomorrow!

Was going to use top cash back and get 4% back too....

Anyone know any other way to get one cheap?
