I admit that Mark Gurman's rumors were not exactly right, but he did clearly suggested that a miss would due to "unexpected events". So I still say his rumor batting average is 99.9% perfect.
Gambled and lost on RC1 but at least they’ve been doing a good job about updates coming as deltas.

Just give it a try if you're experiencing battery drain with your iPhone. I am, so I'm installing it ASAP.
Apple doesn't need to adress that on release notes but it may be fixed when it comes to general bug fixes that new updates brings. My iPhone 15 Pro battery sucks after iOS 18.1, hoping it improves afterwards.

I was always under the impression that unless there are further issues, RC is the same as the final release.
Sometimes after installing the RC, it does actually download the "final" .x release again if there is another "tweak" necessary.

Sure RC1 was several days ago and 2 was just one build up so most likely addressed one issue or tweak.
This is why I'm so irritated with "AI"

Interesting, I really haven't had any battery drain on my 16 Plus. The battery drains faster when using AI but if anything, just normal use seems to be giving me better battery life on the 18.2 RC's.
I pretty much will agree with that but in testing out the Visual Intelligence, that works very well and is going to be quite helpful.
Wow so to say 18.2 really doesn’t bring anything really interesting to older iPhones that won’t run the ai features wow 😮 what a shame

I have an iPhone 13PM that prompted to install 18.2 at 7:30am MST this morning however, my iPhone 16PM still thinks 18.1.1 is the latest. Any way I can get my iPhone 16 to see the update or is this just a waiting game?
I'm a little - but not completely - surprised 18.2 was out so early. But there is a likely logic to it. The 13 won't have AI so it's safe to send that out sooner, and probably will save on bandwidth for when the 15s and 16s get their large updates.
So yes, it's a waiting game. I don't know about the time differences for MST but PST historically gets it at 10:00 a.m. and EST gets it at 1:00 p.m.

I am on the version before the rc. I always turn off betas so I get the official release instead of the rc just in case any differences. I am getting massive battery drain with it on 16pm was not getting it on earlier versions.
