My iPad will get iOS 17 but its gimped as its a third gen iPad pro 12.9" so that's the next upgrade after I updated to a Mac mini pro 16gb ram 1TB SSD. The iPhone can wait till next year or the year after that. I wish you could side load macOS on a iPad, it's powerful enough with a M2 but its pointless having that much power and it does not get used really.

For me personally, the new features are probably a worthwhile upgrade from my 11 pro but if I had a 12/13/14, I likely wouldnt bother.

USB-C is a big deal when I can use the same cable to charge my iPad, laptop, gimbal, gopro and now phone So that’s a worthwhile upgrade there.

Camera bump between 11 and 15 is going to be decent, especially with the new zoom. I use a DJI gimbal so my iphone is my main camera.

Not overly fussed about the titanium but it’s handy.

Transfer speeds don’t bother me, my ipad is my main video device and I just let my images and videos upload to icloud before editing on the ipad anyway.

Wether it’s worthwhile upgrading will depend on each persona circumstances
I'm going 15PM from a 12PM.

3yrs is the longest I've ever waited between upgrades since launch in 2007. The camera is aLWAYS my primary reason to purchase, so I nearly went for the 14PM last year when the 48mp upgrade was announced, but I decided to stretch my 12PM out a little longer because the 2nd generation camera iterations have historically always been better. From what I saw last night I won't be disappointed with the upgrade, as the camera is a serious step up form my 12PM and also the 14PM.

It will be bionic*... "better than it was before.... better, stronger, faster." ;)

*and possibly cost about $6 million dollars
How does this not have more likes? The show was way before my time but even I'm aware of the reference. Once more the comments section of MR disappoints.

Keeping my iPhone 13. It’s perfect.
Now all I care is about iCloud 12TB you bet your assests I’ll get the 12TB
Now that iCloud has a bigger space I technically don’t even need to buy each years higher gigs iphone

It’s got a new process, completely overhauled GPU, a prism based telephoto lens, UWB 2, etc.

But hey, the glib hot takes of disappointment are pouring in so I won’t waste my time any further.
Thank you. It has a new processor ever year. Improvements are necessarily specs. Improvements are what those specs do for you, or enable you to do. Near as I can tell those are, get closer to your subject for photos and better gaming, if you game. Screens aren’t different. Battery isn’t different. I doubt most people would even notice the processor differences in real world usage.

The screen is also now brighter.

Many of these improvements are quality-of-life improvements. These are the things you didn’t know you wanted, but if you get exposed to them and then go back, something feels “missing”.

How do you limit the amount stored on your phone? I have a 256GB but every time I try to use a 128GB it runs out of space even though I have iCloud

I know USB-C is a more adopted standard, I just know it can be a flimsier solution in a mobile device compared to say a MacBook. I am not unplugging and plugging in my MacBook as much as I do my iPhone, and I have had experience with the USB-C port failing in more mobile devices like vapes after repeated charging use. Oh well, have to "get with the times" I guess.
This! I plug my M1 Max MBP in daily, and I rotate which of the 3 USB-C ports I use. In that time, I can definitely feel that the connections are not as crisp as when new. I can't imagine what it's going to feel like on a phone that gets plugged in 1-2 times a day on average. Honestly surprised Apple didn't switch sooner as I bet it will 'cause more people to upgrade before they normally would with the rock solid Lightning port.

but doesnt the natural look kinda gray?

I’ve watched at least a dozen hands on videos And what I’ve concluded is that in certain lighting it can appear slightly gray-ish, otherwise it looks like a light taupe color. It’s hard to describe. Once it’s turned on its side and you see the frame, the warmth of it becomes more apparent. I don’t know.. I love white, but I also love how the natural titanium frame is more uniform with the back glass. Ughh… this is the first time I’ve had to sit back and decide what color to choose.

As long as it’s not good ish :)

Damn. Apple really did do it... faster USB speeds only on Pro / Pro Max.
How often do you transfer gigabytes of data through the wire nowadays? It’s all synced with the cloud; backups, media, everything.
And the rare moment you backup with a cable… well, just wait a few more minutes. You can take a dump and watch a YouTube video of a dancing cat on your iPad and you’re good to go.

The reason why high transfer speeds are on the Pro is the positioning of the product: to support offloading lots of videos and RAW images.
It’s not a problem.

Looks like a fine update, though I don’t think it’s worth upgrading from my 14 Pro Max. The titanium frame looks nicer, the phone being lighter is a welcome update, and the new chip seems very powerful (and hopefully more efficient too). I don’t feel like I have any use for the Action Button, but it seems cool for those who like it. The cameras have not changed that much honestly, except for the 5x optical zoom which is even exclusive only to the Pro Max model..

They didn’t mention anything about the RAM and the battery, so I’m not sure if they have changed or not.. they also didn’t mention how much “lighter” the phone is. But I know that Apple doesn’t typically mention those stuff in their presentations, so we’ll have to wait for actual people to test it so we can get some answers.

I feel like it’d be a good upgrade if you have an iPhone 13 or earlier. But if you already have a 14, there wouldn’t really be a big difference IMO.

RAM is now 8GB confirmed, vs. 6GB.. it will probably make some difference for some tasks.
