I’m guessing the iPhone wallet version of a passport, or any other digital ID, does not work at airport kiosks for Global Entry, Nexus, Clear, etc.

If so, what’s the point?
Last time I came through Global Entry all that was required was a face scan. Passport not required.

Can you explain your argument or is innuendo all you can muster? How is this different than a regular passport in your view?
It's neither an argument or innuendo. Just a few words designed to make people think.

My opinion is completely irrelevant.

If you're curious there's plenty of information available if you wish to learn more by doing your own research.

I was excited to add to my wallet but the design is terrible. Your sur name (last) is truncated to the first letter. But when truncating, the middle name makes more sense for that. It should show some more data from your chip such as age and expiration date and maybe state in bold letters United States CITIZEN
I noticed the same thing too, where it shows my middle name in its entirety but only the initial of my last name. Which appears odd.

Wow, you just provided the dictionary definition of innuendo:

innuendo

[in-yoo-en-doh]
Phonetic (Standard)IPA

noun

plural

innuendos, innuendoes
  1. an indirect intimation about a person or thing, especially of a disparaging or a derogatory nature.

My opinion is completely irrelevant.

I tend to agree that your opinion is irrelevant, as if you had any actual information, you would provide it.

Information about what? Your elliptical reference provides no information as to what to even try to find, so I presume it is just nonsense (if it was as easy as you intimate it is to find, should be easy to provide even one reference).

Face scanning is impressive. I've dropped nearly 100 pounds since my passport photo so to my eyes I don't look very much like it at all anymore and I was expecting it to reject me. Verification process said "nope, that's still you!"

But why? The card isn't meant to be shown to anyone (it wouldn't be secure either, since wallet cards are easy to fake). The ID data is always transmitted with cryptographic protection via NFC/Bluetooth. No need to expose personal information to "shoulder surfers". You can view the passport data in the properties of the card (after FaceID authentication).

I suspect Apple's servers are overloaded as people rush to try the new feature. When I added my ID yesterday it sat there spinning for a minute or so too before the workflow finally started.

I had hoped that was the case but it's not. I have many many times over the past 24 hours and it actually spins when trying to select any state drivers licenses or the digital ID. Something not right with my account/setup. I have seen a few others with this issue on this forum and reddit.

Face ID is an excellent example of Apples expertise in constant development. Since its implementation in iPhone X they have forged ahead with unceasing efforts to perfect the technology.

Employing an advanced sensor array, it accurately maps a users face with extreme accuracy. Facilitating transactions through Apple Pay is but one stellar example of its usefulness.

Does anyone else's name show in all caps? It looks different than the example on Apple's website which shows regular title case.
yes, all caps. BUT, why does it matter?? The only person that sees this card is you. You will never be in a situation where you show this card to someone. Its read by a machine

Irreplaceable, but works everywhere and always, even if my phone is dead 😉
On a recent trip to denmark it was surprising how many places stores refused cash. Even the little corner stores. Applepay worked virtually everywhere, incuding on a bus and a taxi, both of which refused cash. Same with public transprtation in several other countries. One train station in the Netherlands had pay toilets that had no way to pay cash but had readers on the doors. They didn't read Applepay but thankfully somebody exiting a stall held it open for me.

Wow, that is so different from when I was there several years ago. At a train station I remember thinking how glad I was that I didn't have to rustle for coins like people in line were and could just use Apple Pay instead.

I cant get mine to work. It goes through all these steps including scanning the chip. Then it says it needs to do more verification so I have to take all these live photos and move my head around but then comes back as failed.

Traveling this weekend so let's see if TSA takes it. Still bringing my GlobalEntry card just in case.
Welp, tried to use this and was not accepted in JFK Terminal 5 or ATL. ATL even had the hardware necessary but they wouldn't even try using it. Might be so early TSA isn't trained on it?
