Well done Apple. I've bought Apple products for 27 years now, and their attention to accessibility has always been a factor in my purchasing decisions.

I would love background sounds to help with tinnitus.
I have tinnitus too, curiosity about the background sounds, lets see.

I don't have any disabilities (besides my horrible personality) but I find that Accessibility often has incredibly useful features. Just off the top of my head, I use:

- flash screen for alerts (which I use instead of an alert noise because it's less annoying)
- color filters on iPhone to make the screen super red if I'm using it in bed
- drag lock for the Mac trackpad -- which makes it so you can double-tap on something with the cursor and then move it around without holding the trackpad down

... and probably some others I'm forgetting about.

That drag lock actually sounds pretty useful! I'll have to give that a try!

Yes! There is no way I can get to an Apple Store.
edit: They quote limitations imposed by Barclays, the loan provider. I am already a Barclays customer so why can’t I be approved remotely?
I really hope you win this case Chris. It’s an absolute disgrace the way Apple U.K. have treated you and other disabled people. You would think that Apple U.K. would help people trying to upgrade their iPhone every year instead of being a bunch of jobsworth’s. I hope news of this case has got back to Cupertino and they will look again at their policies.

Audiogram support is already there. At least in the beta. And it works.
The article is not completely accurate, the Apple announcement talks about a feature in the Audiograms settings that lets you take a picture of a paper audiogram or import a PDF of the audiogram and Apple uses OCR / ML or something similar to interpret it.

Now stop using that flickering oled technology in your iPhones. For those who don't know : google pwm.

Customized text size settings (Larger) on a per app basis is a home run. It's amazing how many apps require almost a magnifying glass to interact with them on iPhone. Such poor design
Developers who make applications like this probably only test them using an iPhone simulator running on a large monitor. Same with companies who make insurance cards that require a magnifying glass to read- they design the cards with the layout in magnified view and never bother to check the physical prints.

2 things. This is neat. I really just want my phone to make noise it currently does not. I get no notifications on my phone or watch no matter what settings are set to

Yes, this!

Quick recommendation: I have a lifetime sub to an app called Relax Melodies that has gone with me from iOS to Windows Phone and back to iOS. It’s wonderful for background noise, bedtime audio stories and tinnitus which I’ve been dealing with for ages.

This implementation from Apple sounds like it is going to allow sounds to play alongside other audio sources if I understood that correctly, which is kinda neat so I’ll be checking it out.

"MFi Hearing Aid Improvements - Apple is introducing new support for bi-directional hearing aids, enabling hands-free phone and FaceTime conversations. Next-generation models from MFi partners are coming later this year."

Amazing. Now let me pair my hearing aids with my watch and not be tethered to my phone.

yes yes yes!! the size of fonts in different apps are all over the place
Maybe stop letting websites force small type on everyone in various places that can’t be zoomed. Like mr, for example.

Or preventing pinch zoom altogether, as some website/apps do for no good reason.

Sounds great.

But..."and showcase Apple's belief that accessibility is a human right." suggesting there is no monetary motivation in this is just full of you-know-what.

there is of course - but it means a big corporate can choose iphones as their handset or choice for staff knowing that they’re complying with anti discrimination rules / accessibility laws. It’s good for business.

I do not think "and showcase Apple's belief that accessibility is a human right." suggests that there is no monetary motivation; only that, they value accessibility and are vocal about it - which is good. Secondly, while they may have some monetary benefits out of it, that cannot be the primary driver here - else everybody would be doing it.

#1: Apple is one of the biggest companies in the world, with one of the best marketing teams. And everyone on that marketing team knows that saying “we’re doing this great thing only for monetary gain” is one of the quickest ways to lose the trust of your customers.
#2: The people who work on these features obviously want to make money, but you have to have some sort of thoughtfulness to actually spend time implementing these type of features. The people who work at Apple I would guess have an interest in what they’re working on.

Background noises will be really great for me. As an autist I'm often heavily disturbed by noise, generally in street. I have AirPods Max and Pro so ANC helps me a lot but another layer like this one is really nice. Thank you so much Apple.

By the way, I am also curious to test AssistiveTouch for Watch and iPad Eye-Tracking, I don't have a physical disabilty but it seems to work so well I want to try these features haha

Since iOS 15 will be the first release to stop supporting the smaller iPhone SE 1 screen, it makes sense to give the UI some more room, because it will be consistent on every device.

In a nutshell, it refers to differences in the human brain, such as between people on the autism spectrum, and those who aren't. There's a Wikipedia article about it if you want to read more.
I know what people want it to mean but it’s nonsense. It like calling people with cancer stem cell diverse.

Autism is a pathological condition that results in many people being unable to function. That’s not diverse that a sad failure of neurological development. The fact there are variable expressions of brain chemistry doesn’t need a special word but it’s wrong to use the word as a euphemism for pathologies.
