I'd be stunned if they went from the base M4 to M4 Ultra and skipped over M4 Pro/Max.I still think at WWDC we'll see debut of the Mac Studio with M4 Ultra
Nope and the main camera looks to be identical in every way to the M2 pro….which was identical to the M1 Pro….which was identical to the 2020 A12Z pro…..which is an iPhone 11 camera setup. PatheticNo more ultra-wide lens?
I agree with this so much. I think macOS is a lot better for professional apps like Logic Pro & Final Cut, I just can't see an iPad replacing it.The thing keeping me from spending a ton on another iPad is that I just can't load my software on there. There's no Superior Drummer for iPadOS. While some of that's been alleviated with having Logic Pro (and FCP) now on there, it's still an issue for me.
Oh for sure, Craig is the perfect choice to do it also. That whole schtick is rooted in a a not-so-subtle pot reference.
Mac Mini - M4 and M4ProI'd be stunned if they went from the base M4 to M4 Ultra and skipped over M4 Pro/Max.
I've been wrong before, but I'd be 100% stunned by that.
macOS 15 BluntsOh for sure, Craig is the perfect choice to do it also.
You may have skimmed over the part where I said (as an example) "simply bending down to tie your shoes, over and over and over" will lead to contortion of the iPhone. What part of "I never sat on it" don't you people understand? It was NEVER SAT ON...it resided in my pack pocket from time to time and began to shape to fit my @$$.
Mostly people who put it in their back pocket. I'm glad Apple increased reinforcement in later generations, but you're putting electronics in your back pocket so maybe be frustrated less with Apple.Stop trying to blame me when a LOT of people had issues with "Bendgate". FFS.
Some have suggested it has to do with location of magnets.I'm more confused why the 2nd gen Pencil doesn't work with the new iPads.
I never said I was "frustrated" with Apple. It's just the Reality Distortion Field doesn't extend to physics...and that phone bent for a lot of people just from being in their back pocket. After it happened twice I stopped putting it in my back pocket. Luckily Apple took care of me. We had had no reference for that in the past with regards to behavior on where NOT to put it...my iPhone-iPhone 5S never had that issue. And clearly, it was a thing-the iPhone 6S was thicker. You may have skimmed over the part where I said (as an example) "simply bending down to tie your shoes, over and over and over" will lead to contortion of the iPhone.

Yeah I am guessing it works but doesn't charge. Meaning you have no way to charge it outside of owning an old iPad it charges with also. Would explain it being listed as not compatible. Some have suggested it has to do with location of magnets.
But that would simply mean you can’t charge the Pencil. I would think you could still write with it? 🤷
You do realize this is Samsung Display’s sub pixel structure right? On QD-OLED vs Tandem OLED...
As far as I'm concerned, LG Display's Tandem OLED is now the best mainstream consumer display on the planet and that is what Apple is using in the M4 iPad Pros.
- QD-OLED isn't "true" OLED. The light source is made of blue OLED diodes, and in front there is red and green micro-crystals; combined they produce an RGB image. Problem is there is no polarizer layer, so black levels become dark grey in bright ambient light (LTT video example); and the odd sub-pixel arrangement is sub-otimal for text clarity.
- Tandem OLED is "true" OLED because it has all three RGB OLED diodes—plain and simple—producing both the light and the color; plus what makes it "tandem" is there are two layers of RGB OLED to increase brightness while using less voltage per diode (which is going to minimize burn-in of static content like the menu bar). The sub-pixel arrangement is optimal for text clarity.
- WOLED is what happens when you add a white sub-pixel to RGB OLED. The white sub-pixel adds brightness to the image, but it takes a small hit in color space and color accuracy compared to the rest; and pixel arrangement of WRGB is sub-optimal for text clarity.
Tandem OLED > QD-OLED > WOLED
PS: Samsung is upset that LG Display took their business, so Samsung are dedicating a team of engineers to compete and win Apple's business back. And Chinese OLED manufacturers are also improving and trying to win bids with Apple, so the writing is on the wall that this is the future of displays. You will see this come to MacBook Pros in 2026 and regular OLED (not Tandem) to MacBook Airs in 2027.
PPS: It's going to be a long time before Apple brings Tandem OLED to external displays, but LG is in mass production on a 27-inch 5K @ 120Hz panel with 2000:1 contrast (a feature called IPS Black) that hmmm...sounds like it would fit in an Apple Studio Display version 2.
I think they should do away with the cameras anyway. Who uses an iPad to take pictures? That is what the iPhone is for. It would save money and lose the bump.
WWDC '24 here we come 🤞That OLED display is going to be awesome.
That said, this class of device has completely left behind its original intent of being a couch device made for comfort that's reasonably priced.
At these prices and with the tech they put in nowadays, they really should be running something more complete than ToyOS. But as we all know, that would eat into the sales of macbooks so not happening. No new version of ipadOS is going to challenge this since it's a business goal not to cross that threshold.
Will do if I see it.I keep looking on the AT&T website to see if the new Pro is up for order and it's not. Their rep had zero clue about the new iPads when I called to ask when it would be available to orderer. I'll keep checking but if anyone sees it go up for order can you reply to this?
Yay. More power thrown to waste.
I'm souring on incremental updates and their impact on the environment. Self-proclaimed responsible stewards of the environment shouldn't manufacture barely-different products in a saturated marketplace.
To be fair, people are stunned we have an M4 in an iPad Pro before MacsI'd be stunned if they went from the base M4 to M4 Ultra and skipped over M4 Pro/Max.
