Looking forward to all the announcements from WWDC. Will definitely be watching the event live on the Apple website.

WWDC used to be interesting, because it usually announced what what coming in September.

Now, Apple announces what they plan to release 6-12 months from now, with the better stuff coming in the 9-12 month range. Some things will even get canceled or reduced. WWDC now just seems to be a hype event designed to keep people thinking that Apple is keeping up with its competitors. I wished they only give a 4 month look ahead, and actually deliver what they put out there.

So, I'm not going to even bother watching. I'll wait to see features that are actually when they are in Beta. Then we can be pretty sure those features are coming, and coming in a timely manner.

Apple really lost my trust in Apple software announcements when they heavily advertised iphone 16 for AI, then canceled a lot of the AI stuff, then finally allowed iphone 15 to run their AI. This was messed up on many levels.
Once again people forget they’re not the only person in the world. Do you know what the D stands for in WWDC?

Dub dub is a hell of a lot more than just the initial keynote the world tunes in for.

It is an entire week of workshops and classes that developers flock to to learn about the latest features from Apple. Not the mention all the school kids and universities who win an excellent opportunity to learn directly from Apple engineers how they can improve their coding.

Just because they stopped announcing your precious iPhone at a software conference doesn’t mean it’s a “just for show event.” The media made it a thing because they used it for the iPhone announcements for a few years.

But at its core I was always about the software and developers.

This will be fascinating politically. Do they apologise for Apple Intelligence's shortcomings (I doubt it) but how much do they dare big it up for the future? Will Siri be mentioned? It has to be.

Regards hardware - either the Mac Pro makes an entrance or we'll never see a Mac Pro again, surely?

You're right about it being a Developer Conference. They full event may be helpful for devolopers.

I am talking about the Keynote that gets broadcast to the masses, and I should have specifically stated the Keynote. I will be skipping that for the reasons I mentioned. If you or others find value in the keynote, then you should of course watch it.

I didn't buy an iphone 16 for AI, so it's not "my precious iphone". There's no need to get pissy. Some folks will hang on every word of the keynote announcements, and others won't bother at all. I'm simply stating my opinion of the value of the keynote announcements. Apple has lost my trust in such announcements.

When did they start combining the 2 W to make it look like a side profile of a spring?

iOS 19 - A13 Bionic and newer
iPadOS 19 - A12 Bionic and newer
macOS 16 - either called Redwood or Skyline
It’s V V V DC 25. Because 3 V’s is 25 in roman numerals…

is what I’d write if I wanted to ensure the HIGHEST level of engagement with this content. :)

Any chance they announce APP3 at such an event? It's mostly software I assume ("Developer Conference") but I am so ready to upgrade.
Also, here's to hoping they finally polished the OS. Too many bugs. It's unusable right now.

You tried but you failed.

V is 5 in Roman numerals so 3 V only makes 15 even though the proper equivalent is XV
Maybe they meant the two "upside down" v's in the logo to count as well?

I mean, it is bad design either way, but if you can bend reality enough to think that a week-long series of infomercials is the equivalent of an "event", then I guess you could also convince yourself that there is some kind of deeper meaning in a logo that looks like it was sourced from Fivrr.

Unfortuenlly this will be the norm now. Trickle everything. I wouldn't be surprised if at some point you pay extra to get the features faster. They'll call it apple premium or some nonsense.

While I agree to some extent, I disagree in regards to Pro hardware.

The M Max and Ultra were a huge leap forward for Apple's Pro users. The Mac Studio proves that there is little need for the Mac Pro these days. Not saying there aren't people who need or would want a Mac Pro, just that the Mac Studio and even the MacBook Pro meet most Pro needs.

I consider myself a Pro user who uses After Effects and Photoshop daily while also using Final Cut Pro periodically and my 2021 M1 Max MBP has been suiting my needs just fine. For me, Apple has been meeting my Pro needs.

I agree, I used to have Mac Pros, now I've got an M2 Max Studio and it's more than enough for all kinds of things I used to need a Pro for.

Even the humble and cheap M4 Mac mini is ridiculously capable and can easily handle a lot of "light pro" workflows.

I'm hearing a lot about glass themes and it's making me think Vista. I can;t help but feel overly nauseous for this release...

Meh, the Mac Pro like I gave up on because Apple does not seem to care about pro users like they did a decade or so ago

You’ll be shocked to know that a decade ago people said the EXACT same things :)

10 years ago we were still recovering from being handed the Cylindrical Mac Pro, which while gorgeous, was…meh. Today’s offerings are much better in most (all?) regards. Was the Cylindrical Mac Pro better for your work than current offerings?
