Never trust Apple with cloud services. They will just turn it off in the future and you're screwed.

After years of struggling with online services, Apple has finally gotten it right with iCkoud. One thing I would really like to see is a full mobile device management capability offered through the Settings Web app on iCloud.com. Profiles can be created and pushed out to iDevices and Macs, with device settings, account info, etc. this would be fantabulous and wod allow devices to be configured remotely via the Web.

I wish apple have something like BITSYNC. No storing on extrenal server .. your PC & mobile only ..

Apple is really handling the rolling out of iCloud Drive poorly. They say don't upgrade to it if you want things to sync correctly between your iOS 8 devices and your Mac running anything other than the yet to be released Yosemite. However, you are forced to upgrade to iCloud Drive if you need to use the web based versions of the iWork apps (which I do), so it's a catch 22...

Am I only one that has an actual iCloud Drive online app already or did this launch and I just missed it?

There's already one that's the default Photos app.

Are DropBox and SkyDrive limited to just photos? I would like an app similar to DropBox or SkyDrive for iCloud, that would allow me to browse ALL FILES in iCloud Drive.

I wish Apple could get this cloud thing right.

Amen. It amazes me how inept they still are with online services. Their ideas are good, but their execution is always problematic.

I was surprised that PhotoStream disappeared in iOS 8. I found that useful. The new "Cloud" option for sharing, on the other hand, is something I don't think I'll ever use.

iMessage please.
Every iMessage is encrypted by the sender's device for each of your devices' keys. It's impossible to view a history of your iMessages because icloud.com does not store a private key (encryption would be useless if Apple stored it).

The only way to do it would be on a per-browser basis, where the browser would generate and store a private key and announce to Apple the public one. I imagine Apple doesn't want to do this because if you're on a Mac, you already get Messages, and Windows won't get iMessage.

Funny. Those two cloud features are the two that are working the best on my end.

Same here. Notes, contacts, reminders, bookmarks, maps; they all sync extraordinarily well for me.

As for Photos, after what Apple did to Pages, I don't believe they know how to code apps any longer. iOS 8 also has some questionable GUI additions, like in mail where swiping a message in one direction reveals "mark as read", but swiping in the other shows three options with "trash" only a subtle change in swipe gesture away from being trigged automatically with no undo. The three non-destructive options belong together, with trash being alone on a swipe direction! It doesn't help that once a gmail message is trashed, it is gone forever - doesn't show up in the trash or deleted messages or any other folder - I've searched them all.

Apple lost a lot of talent when Jobs died, and now it's showing in the software design.

Ah, an educated explanation! Good to know! Maybe only in Safari? Oh, right, that still wouldn't do me any good as my IT dpt won't let us DL anything:mad:

This is TOTALLY a good idea right when the celebrity iCloud hacking is going on...

So I'm guessing photos in the cloud, revamped iTunes/beats radio in the cloud and apple watch launch in February?

Yeah, especially since it was phishing, not just Apple, and not actual iCloud hacking? You sound like a "tech journalist" that repeats what he hears/reads on other sites to write an article without checking for facts.

My sense of superiority is superior to your sense of superiority.

The implementation of photos is just astoundingly bad on iOS8. I have no idea how it made it out of testing.

I take a couple photos on my phone, delete them from recently added, but they still show up in my collections with no option to delete. It doesn't make any sense.

I wish Apple could get this cloud thing right. I still have problems with syncing my notes and messages isn't working on my Mac at all.

Really disappointing. Why do I keep buying their hardware?

Because Microsoft, Motorola, Palm, Nokia, HP and Sony all blew it by treating their developer's and customer's concerns like poop. So there's nowhere to turn except evil Google and you probably can't stomach that. What can you do?What can any of us do?

Oh I misunderstood you. My apologies. As the article was mentioning photos specifically I thought you were asking for a Photos app.

I hope for an iCloud Drive app as well. :)

Wait, pray and hope.
