Since you will have the opportunity to compare/contrast the level of training received from Kelly and Apple, it may be very useful to us if you would share your GENERAL thoughts in the future without subjecting yourself to any breach of contract or nondisclosure issues.
Did you say that you're in the 9/24 or 10/1 training group?

😉 I'm sure you won't get any prefaces to responses to trainee inquiries that are tantamount to CYOA's because of lack of knowledge about "changes on the floor"..... LOL!!!

My current job isn't at an home job so unless you're in Indiana, that wouldn't be much help sorry. The place I work at now is offering more for that in pay but only by a little bit and they don't offer anywhere near good benefits. I loved the people Ive worked with there but realistically their compensation and benefits are crap. It does seem like Apple is majorly slowing down the hiring process so I would just stay positive. I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed for you! Haha
Congrats! I'm in the 9/24 group too! I'm interested to see how it's different from even my current job too.
I'm concerned because my new hire meeting is Tuesday at 10 my time, but I haven't received my package of papers yet. I've got a feeling I've gotten one of those slow recruiters. I had to call the first person I ever talked to just to get the email to set up the appointment finally sent to me. I hope the papers come tomorrow cause if not I don't know how I'm going to get them on time with labor day being on Monday.

I answered the 12 question email afetr applying roughly a week before. The recruiter called me back very excited and I interviewed over face time the following day. Interview went great, answered all the technical questions flawlessly ( Im A+ and NET + certified) as well as the customer service questions. I have 10 years experience CS so I knew what to say as far as empathy and all that other stuff they want to hear.....Got the email of death. Im kind of overqualified for this position as far as my experience goes so Im not sure what happened.

I have Verizon and mine is a second line. I pay $10/month for it.

Lol I don't wanna spill the beans but I got offered a tiny bit more than $16. It's not $17 but closer to 16.
Originally I was told $14 in the questionnaire. Then the lady said 14.40. Then in the third inter he confirmed 14.40. Then the offer made over the phone was 15.75. Then the final offer letter said more. So I'm sticking to what the letter says. Lol

Im just waiting on my equipment. I know nothing more than just my iPhone 4. Lol yesterday was my first time in an apple store to actually play with the other devices. I decided that I'm gonna buy a iPad and iMac for myself for Christmas. Plus it may help me with my job. My first time trying to troubleshoot an iPhone for a customer was when I worked from home for a major wireless carrier. I told the man to take the battery out and quickly discovered I was wrong. Lol I had never played with or touched one... So I just played it off like I forgot what phone he had on his acct. So on that note, I know I'll have an iPad and iMac under the tree with all the trimmings. Lol

I have been reading these threads for the last few days and decided to register and post. I applied with Apple on 7/29, received email to answer questions on 8/9 (answered the next day), recieved a phone call from apple on 8/13, was told i moved on to the 2nd interview and scheduled it for 8/14 (was told at the end of that interview if I moved to the 3rd interview i would receive an email within a week to schedule it, i received that email an hour later),received email 8/17 to do official application, my 3rd interview was for 8/20 on Skype. After that interview the person did not tell me if i made it to the next phase or not she did not say when i would hear back so I was in panic mode. However one hour later i got email to do HireRight background check with that I figured i moved on. I did the Hire Right application immediately on 8/20. I just received my offer call yesterday 8/31. My whole process with Apple took one month and 2 days to get offer call. They said i would get my offer letter email in about a week because of the holidays. I am in the 9/24 training class.😀

LOL Taby, I'm with you. I told my husband that if I'm offered the position, I want a new iMac for Christmas since I wouldn't be able to use the one that Apple provides for personal use. I have never owned an iPhone but I plan on getting one when the new one comes out. I've owned every iPad, Apple TV and iPod Touch but no iPhone! I've only had an Android or Blackberry. I also have one of those little MacBooks. It would be so awesome if I got the position and used the employee discount for the new iPhone!

I plan on hitting my 90 days and getting a MacBook. I pretty much have everything but that. Got tons of iPods floating around my house and I was the highest APP seller at the place I work at now so I won an iPad 2. I fell in love with the iPad and had to get an iPhone so now I have an iphone4. It definitely will help in calls, especially for me. If I can see it I can tell someone how to do it. I have a little personal laptop that I plan on keeping in my office but ever since my MacBook got stolen I've wanted a new one. I miss that computer, it lasted so long before someone took it.
We're kinda on the same boat. Even though i haven't received the e-mail of death the recruiter never mentioned anything about a 3rd interview and said i'd receive a response within a few days. Considering everyone else's experience I'd have to say I'm most likely not getting the 3rd interview or a job offer.
I have 6 years CS experience and 10+ years IT experience (yes this includes troubleshooting remote users). I too feel like I'm almost a little too overqualified considering some of the people that have been getting the position lol.
The person that told me about this position didn't get the job either and they've had years of experience working with Apple at their retail and he didn't get the job either ... i'm kind of dumbfounded at this point
I concur with the contentions that advanced qualifications play a little role in the decision-making process for both Apple and Kelly Services.

I have been following this thread for quite a while, and just wanted to stop by and wish everyone still going thru the hiring process good luck! And Congratz to the ones awaiting training. Relax and stop worrying about what you do and don't know about Apple. Personality is what gets you in the door with either Kelly or Apple. You have to relay to the person your talking to that you want to help and earn their trust. Knowing and memorizing all the tech lingo isn't going to be your job. Things change from day to day, update to update. Your customer service skills get you the job.
