Apple At-Home Advisor...

switching from Kelly to Apple

Can anyone tell me if you can still apply at Apple if you already got hired at Kelly for the at home advisor positon? I would rather make a little bit more and have good insurance.

So now I'm waiting on that email guys! YAY! I feel pretty confident about the next interview. I'm going to be completely consumed in studying so that my responses aren't as wordy like the last interviewer suggested, of course. In my first Skype interview, when asked a Windows OS question, I started to stumble a bit towards the end of my answer since I'm not glued to a PC like I am my MbP or iPad. She did tell me that I hit the key points she was looking for so if I probably would have just stopped rambling I would have answered fine.

:apple: We'll see what happens!!! Definitely feeling good about it, just trying not to get over confident... still nervous though!

well that's nice ... i was asked all the questions and was not chosen but others are just there "chit chatting" getting the jobs

Then you received an interview invitation to the part-time position. Seems like your impatience may have resulted to you somewhat shooting yourself in the foot. Actually, yeah you're reading my scenario in a clearer light than I experienced it myself, to be honest. I think it was the wording in the questionnaire that pushed me to reapply because it asked "May we call you sometime today or in the next few days?" And since the 25th, when I got the email, was a Saturday, I waited until the night of business day 3 to hear and yup, reapplied. But the application that triggered the second questionnaire email was not submitted until 9/09. So I mean, it had been "the next few days" to me. Maybe it was a mistake, but indeed I am in the running, part-time or not, and that makes me a happy girl!!!

According to the informers on this site, I believe there may be possibilities to do so. The poster, SCIONTX, recently made a successful switch. I would read postings by SCIONTX to map out a strategy. Use the "search this forum" feature to find those postings. Best of luck! :apple:

There is a tracking number on your label you can use to verify delivery of your paperwork. It's teeny, so I missed it myself at first.

Or..you could just email and ask if the received the material as I did..... Shows good follow up.

I do not have anyone's email address and I am not the type to pester people. They have to deal with countless numbers of people that email them with stupid questions. No need for me to join that club.

Who made you the arbiter of what is or isn't a waste? As the saying goes, "It's better to be silent and thought an idiot, then to open your mouth and remove all doubt". Once again, you have removed the doubt to many that read your pointless, dark room, bully comments. Unless you know me personally keep your mouth shut.

Do you ever get to the interview process? If so I would say maybe dumb down your technical experience, make sure you're explaining things in simple layman's terms, and use descriptive yet simple words. I think they're looking for someone who has enough technical knowledge so that they don't have to completely train you ground up, but that can empathize and explain things in a way an inexperienced customer could understand.

No, I have never gotten to the interview process, I think I need to fix my vocabulary in my resume, it may be too technical.

This is a public forum and I can pretty much say (within reason) what I wish. Your post was pure braggadocio and it was also your second in which you blew your own horn. If you want to brag, that's fine but don't whine when someone tries to knock you off your little pedestal.

Interesting rationale.... The recruiter that contacted me to offer the job not only provided her telephone number but also gave her email address and welcomed contact at any time during the process.

Moreover, the employee that is listed as Apple's contact for the background check on the HireRight application is the same who coordinated the third interview. She has responded to telephone and email inquiries without delay (I note that inquiries have been few though).

In short, I just do not see Apple having such a philosophy and would not see any means of contact from a prospective employee as bothersome. IMHO.....It would probably prefer that you ask the company than seek guidance on a public forum.....IMHO, again! 😀

Well, that's another school of thought. IMHO, it's not a matter of whether or not someone is happy to do it, it's that I know how many such questions they get a day and if I can find the information a different way then I will. Which is what I think the OP was trying to do. I also don't think that sharing information as we all have been doing is "seeking guidance"........ It's disseminating information and taking what is useful and leaving the rest of the BS. Which is not what I just did😀

I haven't gotten the job yet, and the "chit chatting" was after three questionnaires, two phone interviews, and a Skype interview and another contact from a recruiter who hadn't realized I was already being moved forward with someone else...

I think its alright we talked about our weekends briefly. lol "smh"

Yeah, kinda. 🙁 I simply was trying to encourage either choice.... I'm not a negative person at all. I hope you found the info you needed about receipt of hiring paperwork because that is a vital part of the process. Take care.

Although it seems that there is a slight change in your position in this post (i.e., "it's not a matter of whether or not someone is happy to do it...."). In a previous post, however, you said contacting Apple for "information" may be "little irritating to staff." I assume one could argue that when a customer calls in for "information" that is clearly conveyed in one of the corresponding user manuals of an Apple product, it would not be a promotion of Apple's philosophy if an advisor respond by saying, "We get a plethora of a tech support calls each day. Next time, please refer to your manual."

Might I add, hidden safely in the safety of your angry little world is where losers like you do your deeds. You say on a keyboard what you would NEVER say to my face, because you are a wimp, a self appointed message board cop, with no real courage, who no one wants or likes. The world of message boards are full of creeps like you. You spew your hatred, and jealously from a dark safe place. If you are jealous of my accomplishments, that is your problem. I really don't have a position....I'm not a political candidate. I was simply pointing out that although you may feel that your recruiter was happy to communicate with you on a more personal level and get to know ya better, some of us approach matters differently. Neither way is wrong and it's a bit silly to be going back and forth about it. As for comparing customers to inept co-workers...... no, no. I'm leaving it alone. Enjoy your Apple time as will I.
