Seeing how Summer doesn't end for another month, I don't see anything coming out of this case.

This is awesome. Really. I am usually a proud American when something like this happens.

:D Agreed! I think its funny how people defend the companies that will end up screwing them anyway.

In other news, when the defendant's lawyer was looking at the calender to determine when he would file the motion he realized there is still another month of summer.

Another stupid lawsuit by an idiot who cannot read.
    The judge will toss it.
I'm not defending Apple and AT&T, just saying that this lawsuit is a pointless waste of time and court resources.

Nah, I'm sure the $5B is for legal fees. The $1000 will be distributed among the 9 million members of the class in the form of .01-cent reductions of their Jan. 2010 phone bills.

Heh. There are no seasons outside the US. Certainly not in the Southern Hemisphere.

What I don't understand is why almost every other AT&T phone can send MMS. Unless we all start sending massive amounts of video via MMS, I don't see iPhone users sending photos being a big problem for AT&T's network. After all, most AT&T phones are capable already.

MMS is serious business. If it affects you that much then maybe just go to Verizon or something

(does anyone else find it ironic that searching for "MMS" on Google Images brings up loads of iPhone pictures and screenshots?)

on the one hand this is an absurd lawsuit. On the other hand the idiots at AT&T deserve the bad publicity and Apple is no better for advertising and touting a feature on a new phone which would not be available on launch day. I'm sure they knew AT&T's timeline before they began using MMS as one of their selling points for the new iPhone. I understand it's available overseas but dont advertise it in the US where AT&T is the exclusive carrier, then you have nuts like this one holding you to your word.

Maybe had at&t just said "end of Summer" instead of "late Summer" all of this would have been avoided ....

No because then Mother Nature would have been included in the lawsuit as to not giving a definite date for the 'end of summer.'

What exactly should they be sued for, not making the end of summer come earlier? And I'm sure, as a customer, you'll be pleased as punch when they raise prices to offset the cost of having a $5 billion $$ settlement. And I'm also assuming that by "they," you mean AT&T, as MMS works in pretty much every other country that has the iPhone.

i dont really understand the need for mms i just send stuff through emails if i need to send pictures... I just dont want to be charged more money for a feature i have no use for.
