Thanks! Wow, that seems like a whole lot more than what some people were saying was in the phase one agreement. Do you have any of the details? I am genuinely shocked China would agree to most of that.

Most of those are "commitments" rather than anything enshrined in law. In other words, a best try by both sides. The agreement is only 80 pages compared to 1,800 pages for NAFTA 2.0.

China cannot feed or power itself so I can see why they would ‘agree’ to buy more food. Food and Livestock prices in China are inflating quickly. It would only have been a matter of time until they had to negotiate.

I am still unable to find more agreement details. If enforceable in any way, these changes will completely alter China’s market. Seems more likely they will not keep their end of the deal and are buying time. Double digit food cost inflation is not sustainable. Though it would be great to see this deal work, I am very doubtful it will ever take hold. Smart money (in my opinion) is still diversifying/moving supply chain out of China.

Don’t forget the theft and attempted theft of Apple and Tesla’s source code, among many other IP thefts from China.

Also remember the employee that Apple caught trying to steal its source code and fly back to China?

So not only did he try to steal Apples self driving secrets, but also missile defense system secrets. Here’s a picture that missile system:

China is not our friend.
Theft occurs all around the world. Look at the number of local thefts that take place here in the US. We got Tesla and Rivian here..
