Cook promised the Trump administration an additional 100 billion investment in US manufacturing on top of the 500 billion already promised over the next four years. Blah blah ballroom.. err um gold plaque.

In January 2027, Cook will be back in the Oval Office providing bribes, I mean gifts, to help convince Donald to ignore Apple for another few years.

He may not have to do that if the midterms take the House away from the Republicans. Then again, there's no telling what the mad king will try to pull if, after all his gerrymandering and anti-Democratic attempts to hack free and fair elections, he feels the repudiation of losing the House.

Call me crazy, but the AI-draining-RAM-supplies shortage and resulting massive price jump is going to be a far more painful thing than any tariff.

Progress continues to be made on improving the efficiency of AI models where the current hardware demands won't be as necessary. The industry is radically over-building hardware and data centres right now, but a major breakthrough will happen rendering it all overkill. It's already happening with advances such as "sparse attention" and newer model technologies.
