A lot of the time the scratches you see are in the oleophobic coating. That coating is not permanent and wears over time. You can DIY replace it. Doing so can sometimes lessen the appearance of micro scratches.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaa? I had no clue that the oleophobic coating could be fixed, let alone fixed DYI.

THANK YOU! I wish more people knew about this so they could fix their own scratches. Unless, of course, you have an oleophobic phobia.
