Grand Central garbage...

You know it is about NYC when you get tweets from pompous real estate "brokers" and the Observer talking about "defying the laws of taste". What a laugh. I am waiting for Donald Trump to get involved. Maybe make a "reality" TV show about it. Really give it that New York "tastefulness". Grand Central Station would be a horrible place for an Apple store for so many reasons. I wonder if Trump has contacted Steve Jobs about having Apple create a Smart Cover for his head? A few magnets implanted in his head and he would be good to go.

Yeah, I have found some pretty good sources that say a deal is still in the process of being negotiated. I somehow don't think something like this would be canceled due to logistical issues. I could however see it being postponed. Though I can say, from first hand research, that the MTA does have a long approval process for any type of building projects within the station. That doesn't mean it is not possible, or that such projects violate the laws of physics, or building regulations.

On a side note, my source was better than the New York Observer, and confirmed that negotiations were in the process of taking place, but that nothing has yet to be confirmed. Take this article, as well as my comment as a rumor, since that is precisely what they are. Odds' still remain that the deal is in the process of being negotiated. Until an official statement is made, don't believe anything. There is a reason this website is called MacRumors, and not MacPressRelease.

My source wants to know if your source wants to meet for lunch Tuesday at 11:30. My source knows a good place on the corner of 2nd and 9th.

Good idea. I am sure Trump would love it.

Keeps his do-lapping in it's desired shape:)

What a non story.

Apple would only want to be involved with a teleporting station iporting you wherever you want to be.

The next game changer. The "ibrundlefly"

Don't see a problem. Apple has done lots of non-cookie cutter store designs. Covent Garden, SoHo come to mind. They know how to fit in.

As for technical issues, that sounds like BS.

As a NYC resident, I'm happy to hear this isn't happening. Not only is it a brilliant piece of architecture that I don't want to see trampled on, but it's also an extremely busy transit hub. We don't need any additional traffic, especially tourist traffic - or people camping out in the main terminal during product releases, etc, etc. The place is busy enough as it is without apple's craziness.
