It's arrived.
[doublepost=1487242646][/doublepost]Added to the Omna/Home app within 30 seconds, same as other homekit devices.

You get a preview of the camera in the main Home App screen, so no need to open up the Omna app.

The wide angle lens is very impressive, captures the entire width of my lounge with both entrances.
[doublepost=1487243395][/doublepost]Now trying to figure out how to only have the motion sensing on whilst I'm not in the house.

At the moment I get a motion sensing alert when I'm in the house. I can't see any obvious setting that turns that off until I've left home.
[doublepost=1487247569][/doublepost]ok, so the answer from D-Link is that Motion Detection is either on or off. No means of customising that. So my phone beeps everytime there is movement in the lounge. Maybe this will get improved on in an update?

Ok next problem.

I turn off wifi on my iPhone 7 and switch back to 4g.

I can control my other homekit devices ok, but the Omna has no response on the home app, and in the omna app there is no image. ?????
[doublepost=1487248556][/doublepost]Update: Rebooted the ATV4, and now it's all working on 4g :)

Thanks for all the info, this is exactly what I've wanted!

Can see the camera on my watch too.
[doublepost=1487249940][/doublepost]More observations.

Yes it records onto a memory card. However, what happens if I get burgled and they take the camera ?

I loose the footage from the camera. ?

Wait, so the setting to turn motion sensing off doesn't appear until you have physically left the house? That doesn't make any sense. So you're saying when you are in the house and looking at the Omna's settings in the Home app, there's no option to control motion sensing, but once you leave the boundary (of your WiFi/ATV4, I presume), suddenly the option does appear in the Home app? So if you turn motion sensing off while away from home, when you arrive home, does it automatically turn itself back on, or ... ? I'm so confused.

Is there not at least a setting in the Omna app to set a timer for motion sensing to turn on/off?

no no :)

The motion sensing is always on, unless I turn it off. But there's no means of having it off whilst I'm at home and then coming on when I leave.

So whilst I'm wondering around the lounge, my phone/watch are constantly beeping with motion alerts.
[doublepost=1487259730][/doublepost]But I shouldn't have to manually change the setting when I'm at home or out and about.

Seems like an oversight.

Still not sure I'm following 100% ... you say it's possible to turn motion sensing off, but yet you have it on even when you're home. So you are making the conscious decision to leave it on all the time? Because you don't want to manually change it to off while you're home and then manually turn it on when you leave home?

If I manually turn it off that's fine. However, there's no way of automatically turning it back on. I can't set the home app (or omna or eve) to say when I leave home, turn on the motion sensor. It doesn't support it.

So I have to either remember to turn it on when I leave home, or just leave it on all the time. Like I said, seems strange they've made it that way, so much for 'automation' ;)

Hmm, yes, that is a bit of an oversight. Especially if they don't even offer a timer to turn it on/off at certain times and days of the week, independent of presence-based automation. Even my sub-standard, non-Homekit-compatible Blink camera I have now offers that.

I suppose I'll hold off for now and see if Withings' Home Plus offers better functionality in that regard once they debut it.

So the only way I see to make this an automated process is to hook the Omna up to a smart plug and then get it to turn off and on as and when I enter /leave the house. lol

Ok great to hear your feedback on thia short notice. About the motion sensor; could you check in the myHome+ app (free in appstore) or Elgato Eve app if the internal motion sensor of the Omna camera is added is a seperate sensor. That way you could trigger that sensor to turn Off when for example entering your house and turn it back on when leaving your house all based on location.

One question about the live feed. The preview in the Home app you talked about, is that a still image or really a video playback? And is it possible to select zones for the motion sensor in the Omna app, for example front or backdoor?

In the Eve app, you can see the Sensor as separate, but you have no control over it.

I'll download the myHome+ app later and give that a go.

Live Feed. It's a still image (taken that very second) until you touch it, then it goes full screen live. (with audio)

Hmmm so if someone breaks in and steals the camera , there's no cloud based footage ?

That's the way I see it. And you can't really hide the camera, as it won't see enough of the room. I've placed mine in-between some large candles, so it doesn't really 'stick out'

In the eve app you should do the following to achieve, on/off motion sensor when away/home based on your location:

Step 1:
Select Scenes (left from Rooms)
Then Add Scene
Add Actions
Then under Types choose Enabled
Enable your the Omna Sensor and choose OFF (this would be your chose when at home)
Then choose Add top right
Then choose Next top right
Then choose whatever name for this Scene for example: Arrive Home
Then choose Done top right

Step 3:
choose Rules top screen next to scenes and timers
Then Add Rule
Choose Next top right
Then Add Location trigger
Then when asked allow location service
Next select your location
Then choose Add top right
Then choose Next and Next
Then select the Arrive Home scene you created in first step
Choose Next top right
Then name this Rule to whatever for example Arrive Home Switch Off Motion
Then Done

Now whenever your enter your location it will disable motion detection

Now do the same vica versa for leaving home.

Lestercity. That doesn't work. Although you can see the sensor, it is not accessible in scenes.

I tried the myHome+ app, you can't control the sensor from there either.

The only thing you can do with the sensor is to say, when motion detected, turn on the lights. That's it. No independent control of turning it off or on.

marklemac,

Can you tell if you can set it up (either in the Home app or the Omna app) to play the camera's audio capture in the background on your iPhone so it can be used as a baby monitor? Thanks!

Not that I'm aware of. You need a homekit app open and running with the cam window live to hear the audio.

Can you elaborate on this process? I can't seem to duplicate these instructions and create this on/off scene. Has anyone else been successful?

Thanks
