In 2021, most people who'd buy this likely have half a dozen ore more cables with Lightning on one end of a cable. It's the OTHER end of the cable that's far more important. USB-A or USB-C? Switch all your power bricks and home outlets to USB-C, make all new purchases with USB-C power and data ports and this controller remains compatible.
Or set aside all those cables now. Or throw them away (!!!), and spend money on a USBC to C cable that works no differently to the Lightning cables you already have (there's no mass data transfer) and in the present you can't use it in most places.
