Or keyboard….Just kidding. Yeah it's also something I would never buy refurb let alone second hand. It's like buying a second hand mattress... gross...

No, they did not. The only sale the refurb USB-C ones , not the USC-C ones. How could they? Brand new USC-C ones have not even been released yet. ! Learn to read people! /sExcept that is exactly what they did.
What in the hell are you talking about? What new ones?? The new ones that are old and got a software update? Learn to read indeed...No, they did not. who would buy this while they can get new one from other stores at the same price?
Apple today began selling refurbished second-generation AirPods Pro with a USB-C charging case on its online store in the U.S. for $209, compared to $249 brand new.

Apple updated the AirPods Pro with a USB-C charging case in September 2023. Other changes at the time included improved IP54-rated dust resistance for both the earbuds and the case, and lossless audio with Apple's Vision Pro headset.
Apple says all of its refurbished products undergo "full functionality testing" and are "put through a thorough cleaning process and inspection."
Keep in mind that Amazon is currently selling brand new second-generation AirPods Pro with a USB-C charging case for $189.99 in the U.S., which is a much better deal than Apple's refurbished store is offering for the earbuds.

I believe so. They also go the Apple Care route. When you get new AirPods via Apple Care you get refurbished APP’s.Talking of this, what happens if you go to the store to try them on? Do they just wipe them down with a sanitising tissue or something? What about 14 day returns - sold as refurbs?
How do they even refurbish them? They're basically impossible to open. I guess they could put the guts and a new battery in new plastic... Or it's just a lie, and they're straight out of somebody's ears to yo
Where is that new $20 set?Why someone would buy this for $210 when someone can easily buy a BRAND NEW set for $20 is crazy.
For the AirPods Pro it's not so bad. My AirPods 3 a are full of ear wax and stuff, but my Pros look pristine, because they don't actually sit inside the ear, just the silicone tips. With new silicone tips, I'd consider them in principle. It's one of those products I just refuse to do anything but new
I can't get over the "in someones ear" nature of it
That seems like a weird policy anyway. Someone buys a brand new iPhone and changes their mind on day 2 and returns it. Then Apple pull it apart and replace the battery? How does refurbishing the unrepairable AirPods work? I thought all refurbished devices came with new batteries - I suppose this differs for the AirPods?
Apple has the necessary tools, for sure. How do they even refurbish them? They're basically impossible to open. I guess they could put the guts and a new battery in new plastic... Or it's just a lie, and they're straight out of somebody's ears to you.
Apple’s refurbished products are indistinguishable from New, meaning there cleaning process is so good that you can’t tell the difference. On the AirPods they probably put a whole new white AirPod casing on them and of course they replace the battery 🔋For real?

What they really need to invent is a charging case that somehow also cleans the grease off your AirPods. Some of us get a little greasy after a few hours of wearing these even if we totally dry our ears first. Have to carry a little pack of tissues on me to wipe them down before putting them in the case, otherwise the whole thing would be filthy and probably unsanitary by now.
It's odd that they mention it with refurbed iPhone's and iPad's and yet, no mention of it with a device that has a tiny battery. Unless Apple actually states it, I am not going to speculate that they change out the battery or casing.they are probably only reusing internal parts like pcbs, speaker, ribbon cables, charging port/charging coil, etc.
they'll have completely new silicone tips, shells, casing, battery.
Best Buy has also had that sale.Bravo on this line
Very much appreciate this sort of thing being highlighted
The headphones are most likely new and just the case is refurbished.Just kidding. Yeah it's also something I would never buy refurb let alone second hand. It's like buying a second hand mattress... gross...
