Well people, don't know about you, but for me this update was very handy.
Tried before to pair my Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth headset with my PowerBook 15" G4 1.33Ghz and said "Your hardware don't support this kind of device".

Not anymore, paired after the update and a reboot just fine. The headset is designed to work with mobile phones (like my Motorola RAZR V3) Now I can use it on my PowerBook using Skype talking with VoIP, tested as Speech tool from Preferences and worked fine and also with iChat audio conference. :)

So, this update was great. Saved me some bucks from buying a new headset for PowerBook, now I can use the same headset (amazing product btw.) paired together with my V3 and with my PBook :D

Cheers and happy new year everyone!
Greetings from Greece

Er...is anyone able to help me out? Like I said the update did not take for me and Bluetooth is no longer available. Im not sure what to do to fix it. See my previous post for more info.

Thanking you in advance. Cheerio.

This is definitely a curious update which sadly doesn't seem to address my problem.
Since installing 10.4.3 my Bluetooth icon will disappear from the menu bar after a restart for no apparent reason. It's happened twice and the only way I could get it back was to restart 3 times or so, and yes, I repaired permissions etc.
The new update doesn't appear for my 17"PB though it did for someone else's 17"
I use Bluetooth a lot for my phone synching, my Skypeing and my iTunes controlling, has anyone else had this problem?

I downloaded this update, tried to install it, it stalled during the install, and I had to quit the install.

Now my Logitech bluetooth mouse will not automatically connect like it used to. What gives? Can I try to reinstall it and see if that fixes it?

Hi Gherkin,

I eventually tried resetting the PRAM as per the instructions below. It fixed the exact problem you are describing. Hopefully yours will do the same.

Restart your Mac.
Hold down all these keys while it restarts Command+Option+P+R.
You'll hear the chime twice and then let it go.

Voila...
