Apple bluetooth help

my brother isn't using his bluetooth keyboard/mouse so i fig. i would use it... I paired the mouse, but when i close the lid or turn off the mouse it takes forever to make a connection, is this normal.... (it took like three minutes to pair....
Also I tryed doing the keyboard. The keyboard light wouldn't turn on. I replaced the batteries and it still doesn't turn on. So i can't make a connection with my pb. it looks like i'm going to make a trip to the apple store... o darn 😛

what i have found is turn off the bt on the pb and then turn on the mouse and kb. then turn the bt back on and it should connect right away. i have noticed if you dont do it this way then sometimes it dosnt work that good if at all.
