I mean the one that comes with the 15 series. Can you buy it separate? I cannot seem to find it, only the 60W and the 240W ones for Macbooks or is the 60W the same?

Sure, all USB-C cables should be compatibile. However I am wondering if it is the same cable (and connector).

The thing is, I like these new cables very much. They material is finally good and similar to other quality cables (Thunderbolt, Studio Display's charging cable) and would like to get a couple more.

Some USBC cables are thicker to allow for more data. I agree that the ones that come in the box now are really nice.

I understand.

What I wanted to ask is - is it possible to purchase the same cable (absolutely the same, not compatible) that comes in the box with the new 15 series?

I only found the 1m 60W charging cable for Mac, which looks similar.

In the past sometimes new accessories weren't sold separately (keyboards for example) and I was wondering if this is the case here also.

Would have sold you my cable if you were local!
I have the braided Apple ThunderBolt Pro cables so have no use for the one that came in the box - its actually still sitting in the box right now! lol. I prefer the longer 2m cables and have plenty of those instead.

The 60W Cable is the same as in the package. They are selling the cable already for 6months or so and rebranded the package with the 60W writing on it. I checked all the cables with the FNAC USB-C Tester and they are all the same. The 60W does not have an eMarker.

All USB-C Cables must have a standard of 60W and USB 2.0 at least. The manufacturer can choose if they want to have an eMarker or not. The eMarker gives out the max Voltage and specs to the connected devices. Everything above 60W have to use an eMarker.

Apples 240W 2M cable is much thicker and has an eMarker. I really like this cable for charging.

This. Thank you very much!

Subquestion. Is connector the same? Some cases have really small ports, for example Ankers Flow USB-C connectors don't fit. Apple's cable has a really compact connector.

Yes it is the same size. It will work with all Apple cases and they have very small cutouts compared to others.

Unfortunately the 2m cable has a slightly thicker connector so it doesn't fit some cases, where 1m cable does. The cable is nice however, looks and feels much more durable than previous silicone versions.
