My silicone cases have lasted maybe a year in the past. The leather case for my XS is going on 3+ years and still looks great.

I've had a couple of recent iPhone cases (for an iPhone12) and they've gotten destroyed in what I consider very little use. Chunks are disappearing from the edge of the cases. These cases are not very durable - compared to say, a watch band... For $50 - I'm disappointed.
My silicone cases started to become unusable when the thin, rigid piece of plastic below the silicone started to become damaged :/ My dad’s leather case from Apple started to kinda disintegrate and become really ugly after a few months. Wouldn’t recommend buying the cases for their full price, maybe considerable if you can find them on a discount.

Chipping problems with silicone cases for iPhone 7, 8 plus and XS. Not yet with the one for 12 mini, but I used it not as often as past silicone cases.
