According to Apple, Low Power Mode on Mac reduces the system clock speed and the display brightness in order to extend your battery life even further. This means that if you're doing less intensive tasks like watching videos or browsing the web, you can eke even more out of your Mac's battery.

It goes to show how much display brightness can impact your battery life.

Even if you're not running Monterey, turning your display brightness down as much as you can while still maintaining screen readability should help you get a lot more life out of your Mac's battery, I've found. The same goes with pretty much any device that uses a display. Even the old iPod Classic had the option to adjust its display brightness—a feature which likely also helped improve battery life to some extent.

They should really have included that on the summary screen but instead they thought "New outfits for Memoji stickers" was a better use of that space.
Why is everyone always b*tching about memoji and emojis? The former is barely relevant to anything and the latter are merely implementing Unicode updates. It’s like you people think Apple puts all its resources into this feature at the expense of everything else.

I don’t think I’d call my post bitching, but if you must know I think memojis (not emojis) are a dumb feature. They’re also featured on the summary page multiple times, so surely those could be condensed into a single card? And battery saver is very useful feature that I use regularly on my phone and would love to be able to use on my iPad. They found it important enough to include on the Monterey summary screen, so I find it odd that it wasn’t important enough to make the cut on the iPadOS 15 screen.

Can’t wait to see the battery life benchmarks for M1 laptops 😍.

Those who use their machines for light productivy tasks and turn this on for all day, are going to get insane battery life.

Agreed, Apple’s obsession with memojis since IPhone X has been puerile.

I can only assume it’s a prelude to Apple Glasses:

‘True 3D memojis! Floating in front of you!’ 🙄

And although many of us here sniff at them, people do seem to like them 🤷‍♂️.

Optimize battery charging would’ve been a nice addition as well. Since the M series chips get such great battery life I wouldn’t mind only charging to 80% to get a longer life out the battery.
There's a free app called "Al Dente" that does exactly that: https://github.com/davidwernhart/AlDente

Works great on the M1 Mac, it only gets confused when multiple accounts are logged in at the same time and they have it at different settings.

The kind of battery that's on our devices loves being at around 50% but also needs the occasional charge to 100 (and stay there for half an hour) and down to 20% to stay in best shape. I usually set Al Dente to 55% so it's not constantly getting topped off on the USB-C dock but I can also have some reserves when I spontaneously work outside for the rest of the day.

I honestly wouldn't mind seeing my colleagues as memories during meetings. Better than having most of them with the camera off because or low bandwidth, no time/motivation for grooming or mayhem happening in the background.
Ideally with an "idle" option so that your Memoji looks concentrated even though you're gone for a minute. :)
