Apple BT mouse

I've just switched to Mac during X'mas. It's an iMac 20" 2.1 G5. Everything is smooth, much better than windowz =)
One thing I'm still not used to is the wireless BT mouse from Apple. I set the tracking speed to max already, but still feel a bit sluggish.
Is it because of my cheap mouse pad? Will a cloth one help?

Hmmm...with the tracking speed set to max, it should take you about 1.5-2" to move all the way across the screen.

Since you're still on a PowerPC Mac I suggest Mouse Zoom.

It's a preferance pane panel that lets you REALLY speed the mouse cursor beyond what Apple's maximum is. I have mine up at 6.5 at work.
