http://www.fudzilla.com/news/graphics/39417-apple-building-a-gpu

This has been posted lately. The thing is:

http://semiaccurate.com/2013/03/25/what-is-apple-doing-at-14nm/

We are talking about 2013, 2014 years, when the news came out. We have to remember that Raja Kuduri, head of AMD Radeon division was at Apple, and left it to join AMD again in... 2013. Fudzilla is very well informed when it goes to AMD. So you can track a bit from where the news comes.

What is interesting is that currently we have not seen any effects of their design capabilities. All of what have been shown from Apple is, IMO far away from what they can achieve.

I Will not be staggered if we will see next year a SoC with dual core CPU, Apple made GPU, and... 4 GB's of HBM memory on chip serving as a cache for both CPU and GPU, and the system RAM, for... Processing in Memory.
What about the performance of the GPU? I will not be staggered again if they will triple the current best GPU in iOS device.

How much faster can these chips get? Aren't they approaching physical barrier? They seem to double their speed every year. Won't they hit the wall soon? Like Intel.

It is all about architecture, and design of it. Not that much of a Moore's Law ;).
