Current issues which bother me (mainly in adding flights):

1) Can't add different timezones for the start and end times on MacOS. Can on iOS.
2) Can't add floating timezone on iOS. Can on MacOS.
3) Widgets don't show current events once it's 15 minutes past the start time.
4) Can't have automation triggers, or focus mode triggers, on events.

I use a third party app for widgets to get around (3), hack my own iCal files to work around (1) and (2), and use Google Calendar to fire off emails to get around (4).

The problem with Calendar (as with Music etc etc) is that they are forever adding new features while failing to address the basic problem that the front end always truncates entries and doesn’t actually show you sufficient information to be useful
Couldn’t agree more. Now with scheduled reminders support, you would think they would have the sense to allow individual days in month view to be scrollable. Instead we are stuck with “+2 more” etc. Some days are loaded for me, and I also hate how you can’t hover over a truncated event and see the full title. Such basic user interface elements are being overlooked. I have zero confidence with their software design division.

From Siri as an app to being part of Apple ecosystem
From Primephonic app to Apple Music Classical app
From Dark Sky app to updated Weather app
From MayDay app to updated Calendar app
Mayday? I didn’t know that app! I’ll take a look at what it looked like before being acquired by Apple.

I’m quite satisfied with the current Calendar app, by the way. The Reminders integration only made it better. We’ll see how this goes, because it looks like a really deep redesign of the operating system…

Think the calendar is good as it is now. But very possible that there will be some AI additions in the near future. Hopefully there won't be too many changes like what happened for the Photos app.

I’m hoping that it picks up some of the functionality of motion.ai and what not, because it’s great, but clunky in terms of all it does, you need to take a course to understand how to actually make it a super product. If they pick up that functionality and make it more simplified, I think that would be amazing.

The ability of Fantastical to combine identical events will keep me there for awhile. Beyond that, I just love this app. It will be interesting to see what Apple comes up with.

a Calendar revamp would fit with a bigger plan to make a smart device that's more HomePod like.

and the data and functions need to flow to all devices.

I'd just be happy if search worked. Like when I type hair in search, show me all my appointments that say hair.

And let me select which calendars CarPlay should read as I don't need directions to my Dad's next job.

This is weird

Like has there nobody been working on this thing? They have to go hire somebody to work on calendar?
