How many model years do I have to wait for an update to the 13 mini? Seems like the logical form factor. Why do they keep pushing for bigger phones?
Even if you look over at the Android world where there is tons of choice, small phones have ceased to exist. So what you and me are waiting for will probably never come, same way as 3,5" screen size hasn't made a comeback.

Interesting it's just a little bigger than 17 and 17 pro that I can tell from this 'leaked' photo?

I think it's somehow cheaper and easier for Apple to consolidate around only "all huge screens"

With Tim Cook Apple, basically everything they do -- everything -- can be traced back to shaving nickels off their costs and bumping margins in any possible way, no matter how tiny.

Tim is ruining this company (some would argue he already has)

while not a direct replacement for 13mini, maybe lots of people are upgrading to 16e from it since the store has seen a couple re-stocks of refurbished units.

It is the 'cheapest' current iPhone, and the next '(S)E' coming from SE1/2/3.

I'm not saying its a stellar option, its an expensive gutted iPhone 16, features and form factor / same size but.

At least iPhone 6 sold exceptionally well. Not sure about that this time as it doesn't seem to be aimed at high volumes.
it sold well cus it was the first big iPhone and new and exciting back then. These days smartphone changes aren't as compelling

Well if my mini stops working and I'll have to upgrade, I could be swayed to go for 17 Air if it turns out to be a more distilled version of iPhone. Not a power user myself.

Depends how they’re building it and they could test it for bending using virtual designs.

Isn’t every company not making computer animated designs before prototyping a product?

If Apple goes for the cheap, it will bend.

Apple is the most valuable company in the world, he is not "ruining" it.

yeah I don't like the camera bulge/ case cutout on any of them barring iPhone 17. Perfectly fine with the current cut out on my 16 plus.
Part of it is to mask how much the camera protrudes. A 5 mm thin phone with an 4mm protrusion would look unappealing, it wouldn’t lay down on a table nicely and most people would find a camera that performs worse than a predecessor iPhone unacceptable.

It's amazing to me how many people have on a slim and light phone. Hold an iPhone 6 in one hand and your iPhone 14 and up in other and tell me which one seems more futuristic to you.

It's kind of like how these bad boys gave way to the Motorola Razor

You know what looks more futuristic? The iPhone 3gs.

It's got a flush camera without any bulge at all, a home button, a headphone jack, no idiotic pill/notch, the BEAUTIFUL iOS 6, comfortable edges on a nice plastic back, and it's so rugged that it doesn't even need a case.

Now if it just had a bigger screen and a faster processor.
