I usually like your comments but this one is just misinformed.
I exaggerated, but it's still true. Who wants to sit for that long to charge a car that barely has any range even fully charged? I can fill up my gas tank in 2-3 minutes, max. And I have 400 miles of range.

Sometimes it is good to be first, like Tesla opened up the whole reasonably priced and kWh efficient EV market. The long period of time it took Tesla to become profitable (only with the arrival with Model 3/Y), doesn't quite work for newcomers Rivian, Fisker and Lucid. Simply because the EV market has become more competitive. For instance, Lucid lost about $328,000 for every ($100K-150K costing) vehicle that they delivered in Q2 2024.

Sometimes it is good/better to sit back and wait, particularly when the desired technology hasn't panned out yet... and see what's cooking. One of the intriguing developments is the promise, maybe even realistic prospect of the Tesla robo taxi that Elon Musk has announced for October 10th. Doubly intriguing because it doesn't seem that Musk applied for a permit to operate fully autonomous vehicles without any controls, steering wheel etc. Why potentially game-changing?
1. Be your AV’s own passenger
2. Monetize: deploy your AV as an UBER taxi

Looks like UBER feels the heat. "The Uber CEO also talked about the business changes that Tesla would need to invest in to successfully build such a platform, and he noted how different he believes the ride-sharing and vehicle-building businesses really are... Unsurprisingly, he notes that it might be worthwhile for Tesla to partner with ride-sharing services like Uber in the future instead of developing its own, noting that he thinks the automaker could benefit from partnering with Uber."

The key thing about the Tesla RT is vehicle size. Simple: the smaller (preferably sleeker too), the easier the automated maneuvering will be. Also the more economical. After all, the average cab ride or car trip consists of carrying 1.3-1.4 person. Appliance-like, automated, utilitarian, flexible - the Tesla robo-taxi may well turn out to be what Apple was or even should have been looking for in its 10 billion dollar quest for an APPLE car. Now add Apple coolness...

Below: where Waymo (Cruise etc.) is at... and what Tesla says it will be introducing October 10th.

IMO, there is a third option next to the two I mentioned earlier:
3. The coolness of enjoying your vehicle the old-fashioned way: fully manual-controlled.
Effectively combining SAE Level 0 and Level 5.
