Until it works the same as a key fob, either in my wallet or in my wife's purse, and the car automatically unlocks in some fashion when I try to enter, this technology is useless for me.

Having to a fish a phone out of a pocket, bag, or purse and hold it towards the car seems a step backwards in a lot of ways, or am I missing something here?
If it has UWB built into the cars equipment it essentially replaces the fob. My car has this and I don't have to take my phone out of my pocket to unlock, lock, or drive the car.

Come on, Vauxhall! 😀

(Only have one year left of lease, so not sure if I'll stay or go, so not really that desperate for this feature lol)

best fobs are the ones you never need to use. When I had my Subaru Outback I could unlock and lock the car with the fob never needing to leave my pocket. Car was push start so again fob never needed to leave my pocket. Some cars do not work as slick as that, my mom has a Mazda that is keyless but you still need to push a button on the fob to unlock the doors, you can't just walk up to the car and unlock. Best is my Tesla Y, phone just has to have the app running and be on me, I can send keys to anyone and when I go boating I can close the app and leave the phone in the car and use my Apple Watch to lock and unlock the car when I get back off the river, no need to risk my phone taking a dunk.
