Yesterday, a number of Apple Card users were seeing mentions of 6% Daily Cash showing up next to some recent Apple purchases, leading to some confusion about whether Apple was launching a special promotion to double the usual 3% cashback program.

Not all purchases were showing up with the 6% bonus, as some users were seeing only the standard 3% and Apple Card support representatives were indicating that the 6% mentions were in error.

Apple has confirmed that this was indeed an error, but the company is going to honor the offer for users who did manage to make a purchase and see the 6% listing, as the company is emailing affected customers to let them know they will be receiving the 3% standard Daily Cash for their purchases as well as a one-time credit for an additional 3% Daily Cash.
Important message regarding your account.

You may have noticed that a recent Apple purchase was eligible for 6% Daily Cash instead of the standard 3% Daily Cash.

This was an error due to a system issue; however, in addition to the 3% Daily Cash that you already received for this purchase, we will be providing you with a one-time credit for an additional 3% Daily Cash back - totaling 6% Daily Cash for that purchase.

You'll see the one-time credit appear as a Balance Adjustment in the Wallet app. This will also appear on your October monthly statement.
Apple emphasizes that this is a one-time credit and any future purchases at Apple will only qualify for the standard 3% Daily Cash.

Tbh 5% or even 4% back for apple card purchases in Apple store is reasonable. I am more inclined to buy on Amazon with 5% cashback with the prime card and their customer service which arguably is better in some ways, such as longer return period.

Good for them for doing it, but believe they probably are legally required to honor this. Cheaper to honor than even risk a lawsuit over it.

Use your target or Amazon card for your purchase? I mean…
The Amazon credit card that I have does give 5% back but that is only for purchases on Amazon (or Whole Foods). Selected other categories of purchases get 2% back, otherwise 1% back.

I use the Amazon card only for my purchases on Amazon. That is the only reason I have it.

10 customers got the 6% in error, the rest of us are waiting for our November or December (or even January) deliveries of our iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, Phone 13 Pro Max, iPad, iPad Mini, Macbook Pro 14", MacBook Pro 16", Apple Watch Series 7, and more importantly the amazing iCloth...

Yep. My card only today saw Monday‘s xaction. 3% like normal

Nice that they kept it with customers. I don’t really even know if this is actually and APPLE product branded by Goldman Sachs, or a Goldman Sachs product branded by Apple.

I had the opposite experience back in 2019./2020 where I bought items and got a 3% cash app credit, but then when I returned the item, it was DURING the 6% extra cash credit period, and so they TOOK OUT 6% (they actually CHARGE the cash credit to the credit card as a cost, they don’t take it back from the Apple Pay card) so they took 2x the credit I originally received. took HOURS on their chat connection to get it sorted out and it was nearly impossible to communicate to the rep vis iMessage what/how/why the issue even started. PITA.

I guess I’m one of the 10 customers! I got 6% on my M1 Max 14” MacBook Pro purchase.
