I placed my order online right at 8am eastern time. A few hours later (11 ish) I got a notification that a charge at my local Apple Store was declined since an old card number was used.

I confirmed that the card ending on my order didn't match the card ending in the Wallet app.
The weird thing is I used my Apple Card and Apple Pay so how was an old card number used?
 
I had the same thing happen! I’m on the iPhone Upgrade Program and the Apple Store App defaulted to an old Apple Card number that I no longer have (and that account is closed) instead of my current one, and now they want me to update payment method but the system isn’t working.

Bizarre.

Bizarre.
Last year the same thing happened and they made me cancel my order and reorder.
 
I called, 30-40 minute wait, and Apple support was able to get my payment method updated to my current Apple Card. The gentleman on the phone did tell me that they have been seeing this exact issue a lot today.
