Now that you have to choose one of the big 3 carriers when buying a phone from Apple using Apple Card payments, what happens if you cancel your wireless service later? I am currently on Verizon with the old 5G Get More plan that I don't want to give up. I've got a few payments left on my 14 PM that I can pay off to make it eligible for trade in. I'm thinking about trading it in to Apple and getting a new 16 PM with Apple Card payments mostly because I don't want to get locked into Verizon for another three years. According to Apple the phone is unlocked but what happens if I switch carriers before it's paid off?

Nothing happens, the phone is unlocked and you just continue to pay the monthly payments and can use it on any career you want after the phone is first activated on the carrier you chose when you signed up for the installments. In the fine print on the Apple site they even say you can switch carriers at any time.
