Unlike most, some of us were required to scan photo ID during the application process. Unfortunately, mine has been in review ever since, which is 8/20, 9:30AM EST.

Support is useless. They can’t expedite or override anything. They can't even tell me why the delay. All they tell me is that I'll get the result within 30 days. What?? Even Walmart is more organized and efficient than that.

I was told that you can submit application up to 6 times and can scan photo ID unlimited times per submission. However, after 6 application submission attempts, you’re locked out for 30 days.

Also, according to CS, passport is not an acceptable form of photo ID. What?? Like, are you ******* kidding me??

Your title is disingenuous... you weren't denied an Apple Card with excellent credit score, you were unable to complete the process.
This has been a widely known issue from the beginning that others have faced (and some have resolved successfully).

If you want the card, you can contact support and try to get the verification issue resolved like others have done.
If not, well, then you can move on as I am sure others have done as well.

Everyone who applies must verify their identity.

Not with a photo ID though. It seems like about 25% have to scan a photo ID.

Some that had to verify photo IDs had issues with vertical IDs and passports being accepted. There are tricks in other threads to get them to work though.

I didn’t know. Could you link me to some of those threads, perhaps? Thank you.

After placing my photo ID on a white sheet of paper, it finally accepted it, and I was able to submit my application. However, this time, it said that my application is in review, and that I should get the result within 30 days.

I enter all the necessary info, and then it’s asking me to scan my ID to verify my identity. They require both front and back. I scan my state-issued photo ID. Unable to verify. I try my passport, but what do I scan for the back?? Anyway, I scan the eagle page for the back. Unable to verify.

At that point, I gave up.

Update:

After placing my photo ID on a white sheet of paper, it finally accepted it, and I was able to submit my application. However, this time, it said that my application is pending, and that I should get the result within 30 days.

Support is useless. They can’t expedite anything, nor can they override.

I apply for the Apple card yesterday morning and was approved right away. Very simple

And you’re not the only one. A lot of people got their applications approved right away. However, there’s a significant subset of users that didn’t. Instead, they were put under review and still are, 24 hours later. I’m one of them.

Damn, I was approved right away and got my physical card a few days later. I had to change the name on the card today and a new card is on its way. All through text. Now that's service.

Why are you in such a hurry to get a credit card?

@Internet Enzyme

Is your application still in review? Have you had any progress?

oh, sorry—no they said that my income is too low, since I’m 18 and work usually like 50 hours a paycheck. To be expected i guess, but still: it would’ve been nice if they just gave me like a really low $500 credit limit or something and let me show i can reliably pay off that balance

Thanks for the reply. I’m still in review, more than 48 hours later. Did they call you or email you to say this? Was it within 24 hours? Thanks again.

so, the reason mine took so long is that i did something pretty stupid and counted my parent’s income towards the annual income amount, since it does mention shared income as a factor which counts. I got an email at 11 am yesterday—16 hours after i applied—that they couldnt verify my identity, which is probably a nice way of saying that someone manually tossed me out cus of my ridiculous stated income for my age bracket. Then I tried with a much lower income amount and that’s when I got the other reason. No one called me at any point

Oh ok, thank you.

I wonder if they have a way of checking your income. If so, why are they asking for it in the first place?

I had a fairly lengthy chat with Apple and they confirmed that there is nothing they can do on their end since the process is so automated. If you reach the quota of attempts, you’re locked out for thirty days since your most recent attempt. I tried again today, so I suppose I won’t be attempting an application until the 26th of September

Day 8:

My application is still in review. Support doesn't know why it's still in review. I asked to escalate it to GS CEO, Solomon.

Case pending...

The manager I spoke with indicated the 30 days is from your most recent denial for any reason other than "too many attempts".
