Apple Card users can get extra Daily Cash back this week for Nike purchases thanks to a special Apple Pay promotion Apple is running with Nike.

nike-apple-card.jpg

From April 25 through May 2, Apple Card owners will get 10 percent Daily Cash back on Nike purchases made using Apple Pay. The deal is available on the Nike website, the Nike app, and at U.S. Nike Stores.

Customers can earn up to $50 back, which means the extra cash is available for up to $500 in purchases.

Daily Cash is a benefit available to Apple Card owners. With each purchase, immediate cash back rewards are available. Apple typically provides two percent cash back for Apple Pay purchases, three percent for Apple Pay purchases at Apple locations, and one percent for everything else. Some retailers, such as Nike, have special deals with Apple where users can get three percent cash back.

The limited time deal is a seven percent total increase in Daily Cash back on Nike purchases.

Nobody wears Nikes like that anymore.

It’s Adidas, New Balance, and then other brands like On Running, Salomon, reebok, Etc.
Piper Sandler teen survey says you're wrong.

Reebok? 🤣 They're dead. That's why Adidas sold the brand. But who knows, maybe Authenitic Brands can turn the brand around.

People are more interested in Hoka than On Running.

Nike's SBs are better than any other skate shoe.

Used to like Van's but they just don't skate as well or last as long as Blazer or Dunk SBs.

Maybe when I could get a pair of Van skate-hi's for $40 it was worth it but not at $80-90.

Although I haven't tried Van's new molding on the "classic" which I heard lasts a bit longer.

Dunk SBs are not cheap but man do they skate like they are broken in right out of the box.

Blazers take a few sessions to break in but will save you some money.

I really wish Apple hadn't gotten into the credit card/banking space

It's just gross to me
I wonder what the market research indicates for the effect it has on brand Apple... and I wonder if thats the reason why they have not rolled it out worldwide?

Hopefully with the MLS deal, Apple lets go of this dead horse and works with Adidas instead.
I have no idea what the kids are sloughing around in, but just in the running shoe segment, the Pegasus is still well-respected and popular, the Vaporfly is present at every race day, and the Free… well, presumably some of the people wearing those are runners on recovery days. If anything, the complaints lately have been more about Adidas, who had a hit with their Ultraboost foam a few years ago but doesn’t seem to have had any plans to succeed it or improve on its weaknesses. (And I say that as a regular to Brooks, the brand which basically personifies lack of meaningful tech development!)

Again, nobody wears Nikes anymore. Meaning us younger people.

Older people obviously still do.

But younger people wear running shoes or trail shoes. Sambas for example have been the biggest sneaker trend for 2 years now.

Also Adidas’ sneaker from Anthony Edwards(AE1) is the first time I’ve heard of a basketball signature being sold out in the literal sense and not possible to even buy—in my personal experience.

But for me personally, I prefer NB, Salomon, Brooks, ASICS, etc.

Love the smaller brands and most others do too. Nike just isn’t it anymore, it’s just a big corporation that doesn’t do anything interesting.

That consensus could still vary though.

Nike's brand profile (Statista, Dec. 2023) by data collection indicated the popularity of the brand:

Popularity of the brand skews younger, with Gen Z and Millennials expressing the highest favorability. Ownership of Nike sneakers is also highest among these younger consumers.

I think there will ALWAYS be social circles & groups who may venture to other brands, but I wouldn't say that Nike products aren't worn anymore.

The Nike app says this is for new Apple Card users only (opened between 4/25 - 5/2) but I see no mention of it in the post.
