My external bank does not recognize the new Apple Savings account when inputting the routing and account number.
That's a bummer.

I am doing an experiment to see if my employer can direct deposit to it. I set it up. I'll find out come payday (;

Has anyone tried to update scheduled Apple Card payment to come from the Apple Savings account?

I just set it up as an external account in my Chase app (scroll down past the bank choices and select setup manually) and it worked. Waiting on deposit tests to confirm the account.

I use USAA.

It seems to only allow linking of an account using login info for that account.

Not yet. I contacted Mint and they couldn't connect it, they said they'd raise the ticket to engineering and email me if there were any changes... sure, I'll be waiting and refreshing my email... /s
Been years since I stopped using Mint. Doesn’t Mint require the bank account’s username and password to work? Would that mean providing Mint with your Apple ID and password or am I missing something?

I set it up with various account payments, including Apple Card, by using the Apple Savings routing/account numbers. It’s recognized by others as a Goldman Sachs account.

Kinda the antithesis of a "savings" account.
So money that goes into savings can’t ever come out? For at least the last 15 years, I’ve been using cashback credit cards for every purchase and paying in full every month with a HYS, not paying a single penny in credit card interest. What’s the point in storing extra in a checking, making zero interest, just for account payments?

Mint uses various methods to connect, with Apple credit card, it pops up an SSO authentication where you authenticate to Apple (you don't provide your apple login to Mint) and get an authentication token that Mint can continue to use to fetch the details and transactions. They never have the login details.

But that account sync process (as of yesterday) doesn't obtain the savings account to sync, this is what Mint support was trying to help with and escalated to their engineering. They asked about whether the savings account is displayed in a web service with the credit card, and its not currently showing up at card.apple.com or anywhere besides the iphone wallet app.

Account details state that there is a withdrawal limit of $20k for a rolling 7 days. Anyone happen to find out what happens if you attempt more than this? I just tried to imessage with the Apple Savings support and got a reply saying “A Savings specialist will be with you within 11 hours.”

I was on the verge of purchasing a car this week and would have needed to take out more than this, if it went through, let alone any amount already taken out within that rolling period for other payments. Seems like a relatively low limit for a HYS.

I apologize if this has already been addressed, but what happens if your phone is stolen, lost, or damaged? There doesn’t yet seem to be an online website where you can access your account and it seems the only way to access the Apple Savings Account is through the Wallet App in an iPhone 8 or newer. I do have a backup phone, but it is an older device. If Apple can make an online portal, I would put most or all of my savings into this account.
This is a good question. The Savings Account currently is also available on the iPad once the account has been opened on the iPhone.

I wrote to one of the chat specialist regarding the lack of web access but they haven't responded in many hours, probably due to being overloaded with Savings Account questions. But that said, I suspect that web access will eventually be there. It's just that the UI and backend has not yet caught up. It is a guess, of course.

Ah, well that’s a big improvement from what I remember doing which felt insane and was the reason I stopped.

On the bright side, I went back to manual entry (using MoneyWiz) and set up notifications from banks for all transactions, so I enter them as they occur— which keeps me more aware of the spending instead of passively observing it in bulk, lol.

That limitation is under Apple Cash transfers, not ACH transfers.

This Janky thing is run by Goldman Sachs. I’m 99% sure this is their Marcus Savings account product with an Apple sticker on the front. All the specs are pretty much exactly the same.
This and Marcus are both Goldman Sachs Bank USA products. Too bad we cannot track the Apple Card Savings via Quicken or Bankivity, or something. It does not show up in Marcus and there is no separate Goldman Sachs Bank endpoint to configure for an account in Quicken, not that we'd have a clue what credentials to use.

Not really. My strategy is to transfer a certain amount of money to my savings account each month that's at the high end of what I would spend using credit. Whatever I don't spend grows my savings.

No Wallet App on IpadOS is odd but the Settings wallet works. On MacOS I use https://card.apple.com/, I don't see a need for an App on Mac. Unless I was this guy😊

Are you able to see your savings account online via card.apple.com
