Debit cards have all the same protections. The points and cash back are just gimmicks to keep you spending.

Debit cards mostly don’t have travel insurance, primary rental insurance, cell phone protections, price protection, extended warranties, etc. And while debit cards do provide fraud protection, it can be a while, sometimes weeks for their investigation to complete, meanwhile you’re funds are still tied up, vs a credit card where the resolution is much quicker, many times instant, and your actual money isn’t being touched at all…………

I used to be a big follower of Dave Ramsey. And for the severely irresponsible his BASIC advice is helpful. But for those with a level of self control his advice is hollow in todays world, at least in the US. But that’s his marketing. Even though he’s an entitled hypocrite………

Ok well then maybe it was the amount I transferred. It is still not available for withdrawal. I can't see it being different for the different banks. It came out of my bank almost instantly and was in Apple savings instantly.

It may be the method too.

I transferred from my bank to Apple Cash in the usual way. Then I transferred from there into Apple Savings.

That’s exactly why yours went in immediately. I was not able to transfer $50,000 to Apple Cash then to the savings. There is a $10,000 limit.

Well, there you go.

If I had $50K sitting around, I'd use it to pay down my mortgage rather than sticking it in a savings account.

Well there YOU go. I want it in a savings account and don’t need to pay my mortgage down. I have an extremely low interest rate on my mortgage and would rather have money in savings if I need it than paying my mortgage down. We all have our reasons and situations.

I moved 40 from my regular bank checking to apple savings acct. Did not go to Apple Cash first. It showed up in Apple savings immediately, as pending, and cleared my checking acct the next day. I already had this checking acct setup to pay the apple credit card, and did not have to do anything extra, other than state my employent status when I moved the money. I'm super happy to have a nice return for non-invested cash with quick access.

I don't think my mortgage could get any lower. I'd still pay it off (;

Yeah I'd rather have my savings for emergencies than throw it all at my mortgage. If I'm out of work or something comes up it's better to have the cash liquid than all tied up in a mortgage. I pay extra on my mortgage every month but like to keep my savings for what it is.

If I'm out of work, we will just live on my wife's paycheck. She makes more than I do anyway.

I'm just tired of being in debt. I can't wait not to be, even if the "financially smart" move is to NOT pay off a cheap mortgage.

Forgive my ignorance, as I don't yet have an Apple Card or Apple savings account, but would the inability to have a joint savings account mean that the Apple savings account could only be viewed/accessed on devices that are logged into my Apple ID even though my spouse would have a shared Apple Card (and is part of the family)? If so, that's really unuseful.
That is correct. My wife cannot see my Apple Savings account even though our Apple Card is shared. Hopefully they add the ability to share the savings account in the future.

Has anyone been able to transfer cash from the Apple Cash card to the new savings account? When I try to add money to the account, the only option is to transfer it from my regular bank.

Weird. I can only transfer Apple Cash to my bank, and I can only put money into the savings account from my bank.

The Apple Cash card isn’t talking to the savings account.

Thanks for that. All is fine until step 4. Under “Wallet”, all I see is my bank. Even when I click the arrow to the right, there’s no other selection available.
Can't even transfer $1?

If you can't even transfer $1, did you "confirm your identity" with Apple?

Ah. That’s probably it. I haven’t done the identity verification. Didn’t really find it necessary, since I generally use the cash before I get to the $500.

Thanks a bunch!
