I assume you mean stocks or similar? Most people don’t have money to invest in real-estate and startups. And treasuries have been rising because the world is divesting of US debt and moving away from the petro-dollar. Means they have less faith we can pay in the future, and I tend to agree.

That AI bubble gonna pop…

People like you are the ones documented exiting their upper level windows in 1929.

There are more options than just stocks. And there are places to invest that will go up when other things go down.

As a wise man once said, you gotta diversify yo bonds.

We've covered the majority if not all of the APY changes since Apple Card Savings launched. At the very least, I hope you appreciate the shorter format now for such a story. All of our previous articles on this topic had the same 3-5 paragraphs rehashing what Apple Card Savings is. We are experimenting with brief stories for certain topics in order to get to the point and save time for both us and

You always need cash on hand for many things that pop up. Medical, household repair/maintenance, spontaneous trips, family, etc. If everything goes in stocks you'll lose money on taxes, and most other investments are longer term in one way or another.

No matter who you are, you need quick cash on hand. Keep cash, and invest in a smart way.

for some odd reasons, banks will limit your cash withdrawal to $1000 from atm machines. while $1000 sounds nice to spend its not enough to cover emergencies like medical or maintenance. For example, plubmer hourly rate is around $100 in texas. add in hardware and equipment and $1000 wont be enough.

“For some reason” = fraud

By cash I mean money sitting in your local bank so you can write checks or walk to get cash. I wrote my biggest check ever the other day when I invested in a new restaurant. Many figures. I'm sooo glad the restaurant is doing well. I wouldn't have had time to sell stocks and wait for processing since the opportunity arose rather quickly.

Everyone needs quickly available cash. From a glass of lemonade at a stand run by kids, to investing in a new business at a moment's notice.

how is it fraud to withdraw your own money?
the reason is they do not want you to take it out, the more it sits there the more they can earn interest on it.
Seriously? They don’t want to be liable if someone steals your credentials and fraudulently withdraws your money. Lmao

afaik, debt cards are unprotected. if someone steals your money you are on your own.
Not completely true. But also, there is reputational risk for the bank. Regardless of liability, it looks bad if customers are getting scammed, and it looks like their controls are inadequate.
