Why woulden't they just do this stuff over the internet without waiting time/materials? Click to expand... The box is for getting AppleCare after you've already purchased the machine. If you buy a new Mac online and get AppleCare your hardware is automatically registered and the materials are shipped later. In store they register you and just give you the AppleCare box for a new purchase.
