Click to expand... If you bought from a reliable seller they usual are. But, AppleCare for a mac is just a warranty extension. So if it had accidental damage it is not covered under warranty, or AppleCare

Macbooks that are resold by leasing companies such as IBM are not eligible for apple warranty even though the unit has not been used at all.
