It has just occurred to me that I did not contemplate purchasing applecare for the 24" display I ordered a few days ago.

I had a quick look on the apple website and it seems that the applecare for my macbook (bought in December) does not cover additional displays. apparently only macbook pro applecare covers an additional display and only when bought together :(

Could anyone clarify whether this is actually the case?

thanks!

That is the case.

AppleCare for the MacBook doesn't cover a CinemaDisplay like it does if you buy a CinemaDisplay at the same time you buy a MacBook Pro.

Yes when you pay £635 for a display they will want to charge you 10% for the extended warranty.

It's just like the computer.
