I am somewhat of a professional with dispute resolution and warranty issues...

Tier 1 wont be able to help you out. You must call in and talk with either
A.) Customer Relations or
B.) Tier 2/ The guy that was able to setup the replacement

At that point, just mention that you would like to spend a little bit more for an upgrade because you foresee more usage and heavier workload in the future.

Heck, if you had me call, I could probably get them to upgrade you for free...
Give this number a ring, if it was not already provided to you... 5126748000 and dont press any buttons, as it will transfer you to the op.

Don't give up!

There is no reason they wouldnt take more money from you. Keep calling and moving up the chain until you get someone that will do what you want. 1st Tier support can't do crap anyway.

You are absofxckinglutely correct!
LOL apple had called me back, someone from customer relations saying it would cost 100 dollars for me to upgrade. I told her I would call her back with CC info, left a voicemail and waiting for her to get back to me.

Turn your PM feature on in Macrumors if possible... I have a couple Q's

And... If they had already agreed to give you more ram for free, you can probably make this upgrade happen without being charged.

How would I turn the pm feature on again? i've never had to enable it on other message boards, weird

Just paid the 100 dollars, figured i was getting a total upgrade, why shouldn't I shell a few extra bucks lol. Remember I was coming from a 2008 macbook 2.0ghz c2d. I'm happy

Awesome!

I'm glad they were able to help you out. Are you going to send in your machine first, or have them send the new one first with CC on file?

They already have my machine; it has a 320gb hard drive and 4gbs of ram. I would be losing my hard drive by 70gb's since the macbook im getting has 250gb hd.

This all started with them claiming my non authorized hard drive caused 2 logic board failures. LOL I asked him do you actually believe that my hard drive would cause 2 logic board failures when it was in service, while I had that hard drive for almost a year with no logic board issues....

they had a 703$ bill for me to replace the hard drive with a apple factory one.
