Hi folks

On the second market here in germany a user is selling a brand new unopened (not activated) iPad Pro with M1.

He is stating that he received the iPad as a gift from a seminar he attended. I was there in his place (house) and "checked" out the sealed Box of the iPad. There is as well a serial number, which Ive checked online on the Apple Care+ page. The website there is saying, that the iPad needs to be activated to be able to check the guarantee (or Apple Care+) status.

He of course does not have any invoice as he received the iPad as a gift, as mentioned.

Question:
- How do you feel about this purchase from this guy? He looks "legit" to me, it seems not to be stolen or whatever else.
- Is Apple Care+ still available, as the iPad is never been activated? He mentioned, the ipad is laying around already two months in his house, without the need to use it.

Appreciate any toughts
Thx

Try opening in front of him and setting it up as a new iPad, no Apple ID to use during set up. Then check on warrantee. .

I've purchased iPads from Amazon and Best Buy and haven't always been able to setup/activate them right away. For what it's worth, warranty and 60-day countdown for AC+ seems to start the day you activate the iPad with an iCloud account rather than date of purchase or receipt.

I remember trying this before and it didn't show warranty unless it's been signed in to an Apple ID.
