Apple Care or Visa 2 year extended?

Debating the savings of 400 CAD as my credit card extends it out of the gate.

I would go with the CC as long as the card will cover the entire cost of the MacBook.

I have a PC Financial card and it only covers up to $1,000.

It will cover the whole purchase. Thanks!

Depending on the terms of your card's program, it can act as supplemental coverage that takes effect after AppleCare expires, for a longer overall term.

However, no card's coverage will match the convenience of AppleCare, as they'll require a claims process to be submitted and processed. With AC, bring it to Apple, and nothing else is required.

Unsure if it's a direct 1:1 comparison. For example Apple replaced the battery on my iPhone for free a year ago without even checking the status of it.

Only you can decide if it's worth not having all the extra protection AC gives you over the Credit Card.

You do get what you pay for here. I'm sure the CC coverage is pretty gosh darned decent but I can all but guarantee it'll not be as good, or as effective, as AC.

With AmEx, they extend the warranty by one year, whatever that warranty is. Thus with AppleCare for my iPad, I get, in theory, three years rather than 2. (Caveat: the extra year of coverage is provided by AmEx and not Apple. Thus you need to file your claims through AmEx's process.)

Oh i didnt realize this so my Visa infinite will extend by 24 months, to a maximum total of 5 years - meaning apple care for , then visa kicks in.

Sounds like a really smart move guaranteeing the device for years for non physical damage.

Apple Care also covers 2 incidents of physical damage, albeit with a service charge.
"two incidents of accidental damage coverage, each subject to a service fee of $99 for screen damage or external enclosure damage, or $299 for other damage, plus applicable tax." And I think Visa will mimic the Apple Care coverage. Thus 5 years of coverage to protect you if you drop your Mac from a balcony. ;)
